Arrived, and checked in. Bought my wood and drove to site, i looked up where I picked prior to arrival, but they gave me a packet with map and car mirror hanger. Good space, lots of families. I was at 407, in the outback, site near a vault toilet very close, also lucky to see the horses in the field next door. Great site for solo Camping, near all the things to do. Kids playing till the evening, loud but didnt bother me, as I am a mom. Campground calms down about 730-8 pm. Very relaxing. A showers had hot water, good space with hooks and also running water and toilets. Walking trails were amazing about a 2 mile walk is what I got in. I will be returning. And next time probably bring my own family, I like to test sites before bringing kids.

This location was a little off the road which I actually really liked because it was very peaceful while we stayed there for the first and only night. I was not excited about their bath house as it was really dark inside as we showed up towards the evening and we're ready to leave in the morning. I skipped taking a shower because it felt very confining and it was not a very clean bath house. I arrived in the evening about 2 hours before the store closed and there was one person working the counter. He wasn't very helpful as far as getting me to my site he literally handed me a map It gave me my parking pass and the money for the wood that we have bought for the night. Other than that there was nothing spellbinding or exciting about the check-in process here. I guess they expect that you already know what you're doing when you show up to their camp ground. I have never been in this State let alone in that park so it was like searching around in order to find where we needed to go and how we needed to hook up. It was a very peaceful night stay which I would return just for the tranquility of the place. But I definitely wouldn't use the bathhouse if I was there or expect great customer service.

Not ideal. Place is very run down. Needs many renovations. The pond for fishing is barely stocked. Tons of people fishing and one person caught a tiny crappie after a good hour. Beach is dirty, and empty. Shower rooms look like something out of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Older man who lives/works there yelled at us on 2 different occasions to be quiet. He threatened to kick us out. We didn't even have music on, just family sitting around a bonfire. I'm sorry but no one goes out camping on a long holiday weekend to be in bed by 9PM. He was rude and condescending. Will definitely return to this part of Illinois, just not this campground. There are superior campgrounds in this area.

We were on site 311 this past weekend and it was great!! My friend and her kids were on site 310. The kids enjoyed fishing and actually caught a lot of fish!!! Campground was clean, adorable, and our site was a good size. Some sites are kind of close to each other but still not tiny. The bathrooms are campground bathrooms, not the Hilton!! Clean bathrooms and a working shower, that’s all u need! Employees were very friendly and helpful! There was a couple maintaining the grounds this weekend and they were very Nice!! Beautiful trails throughout the campground! You can even see horses from some sites and trails:) Do NOT listen to the negative reviews!!!! You do have to remember you are CAMPING and not staying at the Hilton!! Our site was primitive so we brought a solar powered generator which worked perfectly:)

Pleasant Creek was a great place to stay with a lot for kids to do! The staff were super friendly and the grounds were clean and well taken care of! We stayed in the Highlands near the playground which was perfect for our family! We would definitely come back again!
