Beautiful beach, 400 acre Lake, clean Campground and bathrooms-even the pit toilets! We stopped by to bank fish and inspected the camp sites-all looked level except some of the primitive sites. Liked it so much that we booked a camp site for a weekend in August

Park is very nice. Lots of trails. The lake can be very busy at times.

The park is still a decent place to go hike or fish, but hunting is becoming less and less appealing. Lots of ground and good cover, but the population of almost everything seems to be down quite a bit compared to when I started hunting there 20 years ago. Especially quail (which I haven't seen in several years) and pheasants. The amount of ground and types of cover would indicate a huge population. Not so much. The worst is that a lot of the trails that used to be cut, to allow access, no longer exist. If you're not under 40 with very healthy joints, most of the hunting areas are a struggle to reach anymore. Plus a few of the plus where corn or beans would be planted haven't been used in quite a few years, they're just overgrown so bad you can't hunt them. Same as many of the trails on the south and west parts of the park.

Made my first visit here on the 4th. Found it to be a great place to kayak !! Drove round and explored a bit after our paddle. Very clean with a nice campground. Didn't hike or fish, but there were plenty of fisherman out so something must be in there.
