My family and I spent two nights camping here in tents in July. The weather was lovely. It was warm during the day and cooled off a bit at night. My family was comfortable in our sleeping bags, but I did want the rain fly on our tent for a little extra warmth on the second night. The bathrooms always had toilet paper and paper towels. They almost always had soap too. My husband said the men's didn't have soap the first day, but did after that. Cell service was non-existent, so I'd download whatever map you need to get there/back before leaving home. The reservoir is beautiful. The water is very clear, and my children enjoyed building a bridge with rocks, and attempting to skip the flat stones. We wished we had brought our swimsuits. Something came by our tents the first night, but I didn't see it. Don't think it was big enough to be a bear. Saw lovely flowers, and some birds but nothing bigger than that. We would go back.

Been going here all my life. One of the best places to camp. Just gotta make sure you keep your food locked in the car or bear boxes they provide cause bears do come thru at night but usually not a problem as long as foods not out.

I have been coming here for many years and even with the forest fires they have not limited campfires at this location. The plumes county website says that various campsites are not allowing campfires during the summer due to fires. I Was wondering if anyone knows if they’re doing this here? They don’t specify online.

Very awesome place, they even provide campers with wood logs for free! Tip: you're going to need to split them to get an easy fire going. Only thing is... There is a huge community of campers near us, and they're quite loud way past 10pm. it's a bit sad, apparently they have no idea of being courteous; buncha grown up children. But, past that, everything else is amazing and this forestry is awesome! PS. We witnessed a black bear hunting down a deer on our second night here. Bring a gun or blowhorn! Apparently there are also mountain lions.

This is a beautiful place to camp. It was very crowded to due covid. Bears came through the campsites every night, as early as 10:00. So keep you food in the bear lockers or locked up in your truck. Cell service is not good, so don't count on it. This place is very remote, so if you forget something important you might be driving an hour away to get it. As the local store which is 15 minutes away is limited on their inventory. Plenty of hiking trails around. The lake is beautiful and has a swimming beach.

I love this place so much we go here every single year and it is the best. I have been there ever since I was a baby. Who ever sees this, you wont be disapointed! I have the most greatest times there with my family.

Great place to get away from it all. There are tight spots and wide open spots. Road can be tight. Has a dump station and potable water filling station. Dry campground with water spickets sporadically throughout the campground. Bathrooms are pretty rough with no showers. Must park in designated spaces only or you will get a ticket or asked to leave. Nearby access to a boat ramp to the lake which is regularly patrolled by fish and game. Wish they would do more in keeping people, especially children from swimming near the ramp.
