It serves as an essential gateway to the region's diverse river systems and natural beauty.
Location & Surroundings
Situated just a few miles north of Andalusia, the park sits on the edge of a 700-acre reservoir fed by the Conecuh River. The surrounding landscape is lush and green, offering a typical Deep South atmosphere with Spanish moss and tall pines providing ample shade. Because the park is removed from major highways, visitors enjoy a tranquil environment where the primary sounds are the lapping waves and local birdlife. Its proximity to the Covington County seat provides convenience for supplies without sacrificing the feeling of being off the beaten path.
Amenities & Park Features
The park is equipped with RV sites featuring water and electric hookups, catering to various rig sizes and types. Guests have access to essential facilities, including clean bathhouses and a convenient dump station for self-contained units. For recreation, the park offers multiple boat ramps for easy lake access, a designated swimming area for the summer months, and a large playground for children. Picnic pavilions are scattered throughout the grounds, perfect for hosting family gatherings or enjoying an outdoor meal with a view of the water.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to do, with fishing for bass and crappie being a top priority for many visitors to Point A Lake. The calm waters are also ideal for kayaking, paddleboarding, and water skiing. Beyond the park, the Conecuh National Forest provides miles of hiking trails and wildlife viewing opportunities for those willing to drive a short distance. For a bit of local culture, downtown Andalusia offers charming shops, local eateries, and the historic Three Notch Museum, which details the area's rich timber and rail history.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is an ideal fit for families and retirees who appreciate a quiet, community-oriented atmosphere and waterfront activities. It is particularly well-suited for travelers who prefer natural beauty over luxury resort amenities and those who travel with boats or fishing gear. If you are looking for a place where the focus is on outdoor recreation, birdwatching, and peaceful evenings by the lake, Point A Park is a fantastic choice. It remains a true hidden gem for those exploring the backroads of Alabama.

This a quiet little campground on Point A lake in southern Alabama. The host Terri works very hard getting you the right spot and goes out of her way.

It's Remote, peaceful and what a beautiful place. Managers are SO friendly! They do have a lot of regulars, that come back every year! If you can get you a spot JUMP ON IT.

This is a great little campground. Very friendly. Small. Most of the campers are long term (4-6 month) snow birds. They all seem to know each other and welcome all to their conversations. We had a spot with sewer but many of the RV spots do not have sewer and were open. All the sewer spots were full. They actually have great wifi and cable which is nice compared to the state parks (Frank Jackson essentially has no wifi). We will go back.

We had a great visit. Terri and Kevin are amazing hosts. The campground is perfect for a vacation in the woods overlooking the water. There are a couple of trails to walk through the woods and there is a stream with a cute beaver dam along one of the trails. Everyone visiting the campground is super friendly too. Definitely recommend visiting and staying here!!
