I have rated our experience at Point Cross RV Park as 5 star because it was definitely a five star experience for us! My husband and I set off from Ontario in August with the highlight of our trip being to travel round Cape Breton so I could cycle the Cabot Trail. My dream was to park our Motorhome, if possible, in private gorgeous settings, I know we could find these places if tenting but done that been there and tenting not for me thanks! So on the last leg of our trip looking for a place to stay for 1 night we came across this park online. We spoke to the owners Vic & Lisa to find out that their park was actually closed but they still offered us a site on the beach anyway, they could not have been more helpful! After explaining where the park was, Vic told us we could pick any site, we arrived and parked on the most perfect beachfront site anyone could wish for. Finally the campsite experience I had been looking for! Communication with Vic & Lisa was excellent even though we never met in person, they answered any questions we had immediately. That night we cooked and ate fresh local mussels on the beach, watched a beautiful sunset and lit a campfire with driftwood found on the beach, see photos! Then the show began…. with twinkling solar lights beneath the stars with the sound of crashing waves only feet away! Absolute bliss! Next morning coffee with the sunrise behind us to top off our stay at the best campsite of our visit on Cape Breton. We can see Vic and Lisa’s vision for this campsite for when it’s completed and are excited for them. Thank you Vic and Lisa it is truly a magical place and can’t wait to visit again sometime in the future. Andrew and Suzanne

A front row seat to environmental destruction! My wife and I were driving through the beautiful town of Cheticamp looking for a place to stay and had considered this RV park as a place to stay for the season.. Until we saw the site.. We have a combined 40 years of experience in the environmental field and seeing a road built directly through delicate wetland was the first heartbreak we faced upon seeing the property, secondly was the lack of care and attention given to the development of sites near what I'm sure was once a beautiful river. It's hard to believe that such a development was able to be constructed with such little care in this day and age! This "RV Park" (and I use that term incredibly generously) is essentially, no literally, a dirt lot. If all of that wasn't enough of a turn off, the shipping containers and heavy equipment certainly was. Don't believe me? All you need to do is look for yourself. Another major red flag is that it seems the owner has written all of the positive reviews? Not very honest marketing and an indication of what was awaiting us had we not dodged this bullet. Fellow retirees, fellow campers, my suggestion after over 25 years of RVing across Canada and the US, take a pass on this one. There are much better options out there!

What a special magical spot this place is! We stayed beachfront with its uninterrupted views and the most gorgeous sunsets, we will definitely be returning in the future. The owners Lisa and Vic are truly passionate about this place and make you feel immediately welcomed as part of their family. Vic was so helpful with some issues we had with our RV. Thank you! You’ve set the standards high with location, in fact we ended up extending our stay by another 3 nights because we didn’t want to leave. Close to Cheticamp for sundries and Cape Breton national park for trail hiking. It does not disappoint!! Cape Breton is beautiful!!

Great hosts located at a great spot. Vic and Lisa were very hospitable and willing to help out with everything from choosing the right site for us, as well as trouble shooting small issues with the RV. The place is located right on a pristine brook, as well as having spots on the beach.

Amazing location with mountain and ocean views! Run by a wonderful family that has your best interest in mind. There are sites right on the beach as well as next to a lovely little brook. Our new favourite spot when we travel to Cape-Breton!
