Pony Express RV Resort

Location is great. The lady inside said the monthly "Deal" is 1135$ a month. Doesnt seem like a deal to me for a small gravel patch.... if you want to discuss a deal for a more reasonable price please reach out.

I travel for work. Salt lake is where the company is based, so I never know when I will have to be there between jobs. Sun outdoors is always my go to when I have to be in salt lake for a few months or just for the night. The RV park is clean very user friendly for bigger RVs. The staff is amazing they are always friendly and more than happy to make sure you have a great stay. They look after there guests to the point that I was running late to check in and they called to make sure I was ok and see what they could do to make sure when I got there I was taken care of. When I got there it was like seeing family. The maintenance staff is always happy to fill your propane tank or make sure your spot is clean.

Was here on August 18th. Called to let them know that we were going to be late as we would be in around 11. They had told us that our keys were with check-in, and that our keys were in a box. When we had arrived to what we thought was our accommodation, we found out that our key did not fit in the lock of the trailer. We had tried calling the desk multiple times before somebody answered. When we were on the phone the lady who answered was sure that we were in the wrong place and that it was our fault. When she arrived, she brought the right key and it was 11:30. Once the lady left, and we brought all of our luggage in we found out that our accommodation that was supposed to sleep 5, only had bedding for 4. Extremely dissatisfied, and disappointed with the service here. Not only did we reach out via email letting Salt Lake City Sun Outdoors know, but we did not receive any emails back. This was an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience and I cannot recommend Sun Outdoors in SLC based on how this was handled. I hope, moving forward, Sun Outdoors chooses to take responsibility and make things right.

We came in late and our welcome packet was waiting for us. Our cabins were clean and comfortable and suited our needs. We were lacking in bedding for 2 beds in each cabin and did not have a bath towel for everyone. That was a little awkward, but we made it work since we weren't in the cabins very much during our stay. I can recommend Sun Outdoors if you have kids who need to get the wiggles out.

Great and friendly people in the front. I love that you can’t get packages delivered and they have events. The main clubhouse has a nice community area, bathrooms, and pools. Service was great. The spots are a bit close but we had a premium spot with grass and could fit 2 vehicles. Great dog parks and a walking trail right there. Everyone is friendly and nice but some haul ass through the park and the gates never worked. Saw a few homeless/drugged out people walking around and trying to use the bathroom houses. It would be 5 stars but it is noisy because of the freeway and air traffic. It’s also stinky because of the oil refineries and industrial area. They can’t really control these things but it is what it is! Would definitely stay there and recommend to others!

We travel with our work 40-50 weeks a year and with that being said I cannot say enough GOOD about Pony Express and its employees!! To say we were treated like friends and family is an understatement!! This is, hands down, one of the BEST places Ive ever had the wonderful opportunity to visit. I checked in the first week of Nov and checked out the end of Feb. and left there with friends for life!! Donna is just, HANDS DOWN, the ULTIMATE in customer service (she should be teaching classes on this stuff) and at any time we needed any thing, at all, she was right there with answer/resolution/proactive. How we got so fortunate finding this place, these people, we feel blessed. We are experienced travelers and the RV park is well above standard. Clean, quiet, secure, beautiful scenery! I can go on and on but there is nothing like an actual visit! It never failed each day when I walked my Winston (Yorkie) to the small dog park, the mountains and scenery just breathtaking! Created by God's hand are stunning mountains that seem endless and the peacefulness, well, ,you cant put a price on that! Amenities, with a rec room, that is above and beyond normal standard camp grounds, it is so very tasteful, not at all 'woodsy', with a gleaming Joanna Gaines style. There are paved walking paths surrounding gorgeous scenery, laundry facilities, shower houses that compare to none, etc. I am just so impressed with Pony Express!! Go! Stay! Enjoy! Add some friends for life and return often!! I missed the place before I left! Wanda Ray, Brownsville Kentucky

We've camped here multiple times. Good sites. Friendly, helpful people running the place.

It's a great place to stay the keep up with the park quiet and the shower houses are excellent. The only issue I have so far are the dryers in the laundry room they don't work properly and they're new. Two 40 minute cycles and the clothes are still damp.looks like they may need just a tweak.

Disclaimer; This is my first stay at an RV only park so I have nothing to compare it to. The following are my observations. I've been staying here four nights now with another 25 ahead. I feel like this is a well maintained, clean, and safe area to call home for a night or as long as you want if you have an RV. There is no tent camping that I'm aware of. The place has been pretty full since I've been here and I think I got lucky getting a spot for 30 days without having to pack up and move to another site every other day. Its usually quiet, mostly because it's freezing out. I believe all of their sites are pull throughs which is nice. Absolutely pet friendly with fenced off potty/play areas for dogs according to size which impressed me. The price I was given here is good compared to others I checked out.

We found this to be a very nice RV park…clean, well maintained and a very accommodating staff. The space we were in accommodated our 35’ Class A nicely, and there was a contiguous parking pad for our tow car. We spent 3 days and found it to be an excellent location for sightseeing Salt Lake City and Ogden. Would definitely stay here again.

Let me just tell you that I rarely ever take the time to write reviews because I have a full time job and juggle two additional part time jobs, thus, I pretty much never write a lengthy review for anyone or anything, but I had to take the time to laud Pony Express RV Park, its manager Ruben Zak, and his wonderful team. Even my kids, after a 3 week long road trip to 5 different national parks and a plethora of venues visited and outdoor activities experienced, listed their experience at Pony Express as their #1 best memory. Why am I writing such a rave review for an RV park? First of all, the entire staff is the friendliest, kindest, and most compassionate staff we have ever encountered at any form of lodging (RV resort, campground, hotel, inn, etc.) out of all of our travels. Before we even arrived, we had to adjust our schedule due to some hiccups in our plans and (simply over the phone) the staff did their best to accommodate us. When we arrived, the receptionists were very smiley, friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The entire park looked well kept, clean (especially the restrooms and showers compared to other RV parks), and well-run. No matter where you are placed, you are always within reasonable distance to a restroom/shower building. The pool area is clean; the tables, umbrellas, and chairs are all kept in good condition; the laundry room is literally the best we've ever seen (the best kept machines, the cleanest room, the most surfaces to fold clothes, has a coin machine that is well stocked, and has a detergent/dryer sheet machine for the users that forget to bring their own). The pool and laundry room are immediately next to several indoor bathrooms and showers and are very roomy and well-kept. The clubhouse has a really nice pool table and foosball table, plenty of comfortable seating, a big screen TV, books, games, puzzles, and a really nice common kitchen area for guests to use. They even have a great outdoor playground for the kids. Up to this point alone, we would have enthusiastically given Pony Express 5 stars. It was easily the best kept resort we have ever been to. The few reviewers that complained about the proximity of the RV sites to each neighbor need to understand that this is an RV resort in Salt Lake CITY, so the layout is meant to be maximized. That being said, the sites are NOT that crammed together as some reviews might give the impression about, and they are well maintained. THEN, we were juggling with some serious RV issues, and not only did Ruben have his staff help us out with no strings attached, but he went above and beyond to help us with alternative lodging that was amazing as we dealt with our misfortunes. We are very sensitive to imposing on other people and really try not to be an inconvenience to anyone, but the ENTIRE STAFF went out of their way to make us feel cared for. To emphasize this point, we got to know so many of them and are now blessed to call them friends. Shout out to Ruben, Christine, Ric, Suzie, Patricia, Barry, Jen, Emily, and Jimbo for your grace and kindness. To the rest of the staff that we did not have the pleasure to get to know personally, thank you for making this RV resort an awesome place to stay! Now, on top of this, if you are traveling and simply need lodging, not an RV site, their sports cabins are REALLY NICE! They have two bedrooms, a bathroom, a full kitchen, and a living room with great central AC . . . all for a VERY reasonable price. I cannot praise this place enough and I know our family will always remember our stay there. Please, do yourself a favor and take some time to stay here if you are passing anywhere through Salt Lake City. I sincerely believe you will have a GREAT time here however long your stay. We even met several long-term guests on site (we're talking many months up to a couple of years), and ALL of them were very happy with their time at Pony Express RV Park. YOU WILL BE, TOO!

Big rig friendly with full hookups. WiFi iffy. If you are using a portable Progressive Surge Protection System, the night light in the pole will cause a high frequency error causing surge protector to kick off. I turned off the light at the pole and everything was ok.

We are here now and while it is at the junction of I15 and Loop215 in an industrial area, it is 13 minutes into SLC to the Family History Library. The park is very clean, with a pool and amenities to include a park for children, cabins and small store. Not too far to Walmart and shopping. Great views of the snow capped mountains. Not one of my favorites compared to others in the area and a bit pricey. It is gated. the park I love is down in Provo, Lakeside RV Park which is a 45 min drive into the city. Being close to the library was important on this trip. $249/week. Good Sam. - Review provided by RV Park Recommendations & Reviews Facebook Group
