Port of Tillamook Bay RV Park

Overview

Port of Tillamook Bay RV Park offers a unique staying experience on the grounds of a former World War II Naval Air Station. This facility provides a practical and reliable home base for travelers exploring the rugged beauty of the Northern Oregon Coast. Unlike dense, wooded campgrounds, this park features an open layout that allows for easy maneuvering and a clear view of the surrounding coastal mountains. It is a place where aviation history meets modern RV convenience for visitors of all kinds.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just a few miles south of downtown Tillamook, the park is located within the Port of Tillamook Bay industrial complex. The most striking feature of the surroundings is the massive wooden blimp hangar that now houses the Tillamook Air Museum. Because the park is built on former military grounds, the terrain is exceptionally flat and consists of gravel or paved surfaces. This makes it ideal for those who prefer stable ground and unobstructed sky views for satellite reception or stargazing.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is well-equipped to handle various types of travelers, from weekenders to long-term coastal explorers. It features full hookup sites that include water, sewer, and both 30 and 50-amp electrical service. For those traveling in larger motorhomes or fifth wheels, the wide pull-through sites ensure a stress-free setup process without the worry of tight turns. Essential facilities are available on-site, including a laundry room, clean restrooms, and shower facilities to keep your journey comfortable and convenient.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Guests are perfectly positioned to enjoy the best of the Tillamook region. A short drive leads to the world-famous Tillamook Creamery, where you can tour the production floor and sample local cheeses. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity to the Three Capes Scenic Route, featuring the historic Cape Meares Lighthouse and breathtaking ocean cliffs. Additionally, the area is a premier destination for fishing, crabbing, and kayaking in the various nearby bays and rivers that define the local landscape.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is ideal for travelers who prioritize location and accessibility over a rustic forest atmosphere. It is particularly well-suited for big-rig owners who need the space to park comfortably without navigating narrow, tree-lined roads. History enthusiasts and aviation fans will love being within walking distance of local museums. Overall, it serves as an excellent, functional home base for those who want to explore the Oregon Coast while staying in a tidy and open environment.

If you’re looking for a quick stop at a clean, spacious place—or even large rigs—without hookups, this is your spot. It’s set away from the main road and quiet. No hookups.

Fun stay for watching small planes coming and going from the neighboring airport. Super close to the Air Museum which is worth a visit. No amenities here but it’s quiet with plenty of room to spread out.

Quiet and spacious. $20 a night is awesome these days. No hookups but there is potable water and clean restroom and place to dispose of trash. Beautifully green this time of year June 2025.

We stayed one night in our Skoolie. Simple, clean, super quiet, good space and great bathrooms. We didn't see any hosts, there were 7 cop cars dealing with a few other campers when we pulled up but we didn't hear any issues the rest of the night. If the hosts see this, we found a key for the CAT machines doing construction and put it in the drop box for fees. Thanks for the stay.
