This is a hidden gem! I did some trail maintenance with FTA this weekend and in addition to clearing about 6 miles of trails, I was able to get some great pictures and kayaked about 3 miles. The owls at night were a hoot 😂! Amazing weekend getaway!

I love this place more than my own home. My girlfriend and I always book it when we need a weekend away from the city. We put our hammocks up right by the river and just have an amazing time. Highly and I mean highly recommended. And to top it all off, it’s free!!

Great spot for camping. Not many people so it’s peaceful and quiet. Saw owls, woodpecker and ibis. There are 15 miles of hiking trails here maintained by the Florida Trail Association. I took the orange blaze trail from the north side of the furthest camping area. It was just mowed and fallen trees cleared as of Jan. 20, 2024.

Spacious, primitive RV and Tent camping. tree cover if you want. Low AT&T signal, but I recieved texts. Non potable Water spigots at each tent site. I needed an adjustable wrench to turn mine off an on. I had great neighbors, but that could change easily. There was a decent portapotty. Bring your own tissue. Loud noises at night could be airboats on nearby marshland. Loved it and would come back again.
