We spent 4 days at Poverty Point Resevior State Park. The staff was excellent. The cabin has all basic necessities (towels, linens, and cookware). The kitchen had all the gadgets you need such as a toaster, can opener, microwave and coffee maker (no filters though). If you're looking to cook like we known to do, you'll have to bring your own (magnalites, cast iron pots, rice cookers, crockpots, etc). We rented cabin 1. It's an over water cabin. The cabin itself was clean, but could use some deep, deep cleaning. The furniture was a little uncomfortable, especially the double bed. The best seat was the rocking chair on the deck. The path from parking to the cabin is in need of work. Many loose boards and railings. The wifi is nonexistent at the cabin. I can't speak for any other part of the park because we didn't try to connect anywhere else. So make sure you have your own data plan, hotspots, etc. The fishing was great which is part of what we went for. Overall it was a great experience. It was very relaxing and quiet. Quite a few food options nearby if you don't want to cook. It's a great experience I highly recommend.

Boy, a very nice park. Large sites, the pull thru was huge. Fun trails around the park. Great for singles or families.

Compared to other state and federal campgrounds, this is one of the nicest I have stayed at. The bathrooms are very clean and the showers are warm. There's also a laundry room in the same building. There are only four pull-through sites. Sites 43 to 50 are primarily shaded. Also they offer Wi-Fi which had good service at site 45. I highly recommend this park for camping and definitely would return. Be sure to ask for discounts, we got a great senior discount.

Had to take care of a family matter recently in Delhi and stayed at one of the cabins on the lake. It was a fantastic experience for my and my family and we may just have to create another excuse to visit the Delhi area and stay in one of these cabins again.

This state park is near i20. We’re pleasantly surprised that the Registration booth is opened till 8pm on Saturday unlike a lot of other State’s Parks. The park ranger is friendly, nice and professional. There’s also a 15% discount for military/veteran. The park is well kept, clean and well spaced. Would be great if they could add more garbage disposal area around the park. Would definitely come back again!

Clean and spacious rv spot with full hook ups with all site very well level and tuck away from main road as well as tent camping with fire pits at every site and a dump station. A lot of trails within the park plus fishing/boating in the reservoir and bathhouse. Highly recommend it!

We are staying here for a week. The park is beautiful and well maintained. Cost us $186 for the week with full hook ups. Cell service is pretty good here. Lots of things to go see and do near here. Trails are nice also.

Pictures don’t do these cabins justice! They were clean, and tasteful. They are stocked with everything you need to cook in the kitchen. Cutlery as well! I won’t lie, the master bed is noisy and not super comfy, but it’s a fair trade for the view! This will be a regular stop for us.

Sites are very spacious and level. Price is reasonable and there are trails to walk on. View of the reservoir were spectacular. We unfortunately missed the museum which sounds very interesting. We will plan to stop again to see the museum. The cabin is beautiful and perfect for a family. Very clean...I could smell that they had just cleaned when I walked in. My advice would be to bring extra toilet paper and something to clean dishes with bc they only give you one dish rag and hand towel for the kitchen. If you want to bake something you need to bring your baking dishes. Really besides the lack of kitchen supplies it's perfect.

Park kept in great shape, very nice lady at the desk. The rest rooms in very very very good condition. Play ground did have a few open spots in the mat. As others have posted a train does come by often. And then the people going to boat at 4am had the bright lights on their truck shining right into my camp area. But that's no fault of the park, will be going back again.
