Lovely lake side camping- full hook ups or basic tent. nice little beach, clean warmish showers, playground, walking trails. perfect stop over for us when we travel cross-country.

Prairie Rose State Park is an absolute gem for anyone looking to enjoy the great outdoors! The park is well-maintained, with clean and spacious camping areas perfect for a weekend getaway. Whether you’re tent camping or using an RV, the sites offer plenty of room and are surrounded by beautiful, natural scenery. The lake is calm and serene, ideal for kayaking, fishing, or relaxing by the shore. The views are stunning, especially at sunrise and sunset when the sky reflects off the water—truly breathtaking! There are also well-marked trails, including one that crosses the spillway and dam, offering scenic vistas of the lake and surrounding area. Amenities are plentiful, with clean restrooms, picnic areas, and easy access to water from a beach. Prairie Rose State Park is a fantastic spot for families, nature lovers, or anyone looking to escape into a peaceful environment. I highly recommend visiting!

Campsites are typical to State Parks, maybe a little less roomy as most. The lake was pretty green and murky (algae?). The trails around the lake are really nice. Has some thru forest, thru pine trees and meadows. Nicely groomed.

This is a beautiful and pretty quiet place. One of our favorites. The bottom row has the best views and the top row is quiet. The fall colors here are outstanding! Only flaw for me the the trek to the bathroom and showers. I drive and several do so that works.

Really enjoyed a long weekend at Prairie Rose. I brought my paddleboard and got out on the water, rode our bikes and I hiked the full loop trail which was around 5.6 miles. Bathrooms were nice and clean. Sites with lower numbers were closer to the water and not up on a hill.
