Pymatuning State Park

RV Park

Overview

Overview

Pymatuning State Park in Andover, OH serves as a major outdoor recreation hub anchoring the massive reservoir on the Ohio-Pennsylvania border. Visitors arriving at this northeastern Ohio destination find a landscape defined by expansive waters, mature woodlands, and classic state park infrastructure designed for outdoor enthusiasts.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in Ashtabula County along the Ohio-Pennsylvania border, the park sits near the intersection of Route 6 and Route 7. The terrain features flat to gently rolling glacial topography typical of the glaciated Allegheny Plateau, characterized by mixed hardwood forests, marshlands, and long shoreline vistas along the massive Pymatuning Lake basin.

Amenities & Park Features

Because specific on-site RV hookup types and site dimensions vary across different campgrounds within the massive park layout, travelers should confirm reservations and utility availability directly. Campers should inquire about typical state park offerings such as electric pedestals, potable water fill stations, central dump sites, and restroom facilities prior to arrival.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

The region centers entirely on water-based recreation, offering exceptional opportunities for boating and fishing targeting walleye, crappie, and bass. Visitors frequently explore the famous spillover where ducks walk on the backs of carp, or take scenic drives through nearby rural townships like Andover and Jefferson, OH.

Who This Park Is Best For

This destination suits anglers, boaters, and nature photographers looking to base themselves right at the water's edge. It appeals strongly to state park campers who prefer rustic wooded settings, scenic lake views, and straightforward access to regional waterways over high-amenity commercial RV resorts.

Beautiful campground! Quiet spot 350 right on the lake.

Very clean and maintained park. Workers were renovating a cabin there as I drove around. Took some pics of boat ramp area and cabins, as this was my first time here.

The facilities at the state park were very nice, clean, and well maintained. Access to the water was simple and easy. The fishing wasn't too good but it was our first time on the lake. Great experience, we will be back again.

Beautiful state park with well equipped cabins. Both the standard and deluxe cabins are great. The standard cabins are a bit rustic, but the deluxe cabins are modern and feel like you're staying in a private house. The park is well maintained and has a great waterfront. While there is wi-fi, it's not available throughout the whole park, and cell service can be spotty.

My boyfriend and I stayed for 2 nights in cabin 1 last week. The inside of the cabin was beautiful. We loved the vaulted ceiling and all the wood. We were amazed that the cabin came equipped with cable t.v. and many other little things that made the stay so much nicer, such as the extra linens and coffee pot. The campgrounds were beautifully kept and check-in and out was the easiest experience! We plan on staying again in the future.
