"Qualicum Bay Resort made our stay truly memorable. The friendly, helpful staff welcomed us warmly, and the peacocks were a charming bonus. The cabin was cozy, with two comfortable beds and warm seasonal bedding. Everything was spotless, from the bathroom to the fully stocked kitchen. The location is perfect — right across from the Salish Sea and close to a grocery store — all at a great price."

We stayed in unit 6.bedrooms nice although dusty under bed. Bathroom clean. Could only find 1 plug in right bedroom on real bed location right beside bed, knocked out plug from cap machine by turning etc . Danger location could start fire by breaking plug etc. Kitchen, filthy table cloth, had to wash it first, . Found only 1 big pot with not matching lid, 1 frying pan, was not possible to cook meal had to go out for dinner not cheap. Told office lady about it second day, answer I got was why did I say something earlier. My a? To her, does it not to be job from staff to make sure everything is ok? Never got real answer, except felt she was blaming me, told me to check drawer under stove, which I did but could not find more. Other done that kitchen clean. My guest and I felt cost of unit to high for what we got and after season. I know resort for long time, was way different then. Hope it will improve again, we like it up here.

August follow-up to my review below: Expedia offered to give me $40 to compensate me for ALL this. The resort offered nothing. Next steps: considering contacting the media. Started filling a notice of claim in small claims court. Note: Expedia is still advertising the amenities that don’t exist despite telling me they’d remove it weeks ago. Original review: Despite the images of a pool and a water slide, neither exist. A sad realization for my one solo trip with my 6 year old this summer. I booked through Expedia and there is no way of knowing from their website or the resorts’s that the pool and water slide are gone. When I arrived, they told me I should have checked their website before booking. Basically blew me off. I was so sad for my son. He was so excited and we travelled hours, including a ferry ride. I’m not a rich person. Just sad. Neither Expedia nor the resort are taking any responsibility. The Expedia website still advertises these features (the photos I included were taken today - I complained last week, so people are still getting duped). They said there are no refunds on this. I paid for something I didn’t get. What can I do? The resort will likely respond to this posting with some sort of nonsense. If they are reading, I want them to know two things: 1. This ruined a child’s vacation 2. I’m not going to give up dealing with this until I’m satisfied no other parents are deceived.

Definitely not as advertised. None of the amenities were functional. The swim pond is now a home to mosquito larvae and algae and a sign that said the ministry of health shut it down. The water slide broke down after the first day. There was dog poo everywhere and garbage and trash all over the ground. My children were incredibly displeased with the park that was more dangerous than fun. It seemed like they put zero money into maintaining the place. The bathrooms were an absolute disgusting disaster. Far from the “resort” that they advertise. The only saving grace was the beautiful beach across the street. Save your money and find somewhere else.

We booked the 111 group site and had an amazing weekend! The campground was clean, well-organized, and perfect for our group. Big shoutout to the owner for keeping everything in great shape 🙌 and to Michelle at the front desk—she was super friendly and helpful. Having both water and power hookups right at the site made things so much easier and more comfortable, especially with a big group. We spent the weekend enjoying some tide sports and had such a fun time by the water. Everything was super convenient and thoughtfully set up. And don’t miss the ice cream stand nearby—it was a big hit with both kids and adults! 🍦
