This place is beautiful! Nestled close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the quaint little town of Jefferson. Site are big and the bathrooms are super clean. Staff is helpful and friendly.

Must go and stay... It was so relaxing and peaceful. It was very beautiful the way you camped with the lay of the land not the other way around... Snuggled in the thickness of trees and lovely mountain laurels was neat little camp sites people had fire pits lights and plenty of laughing and family down to earth fun. Everyone was very nice and polite. Also have to add this ...VERY CLEAN BATHHOUSES...as the campground was clean to ... I will be back Raccoon Holler...

We have been camping at Raccoon Holler for the month of August. This is a quiet peaceful place to enjoy cooler weather. The campers are friendly and helpful. Last Saturday night was an unusual event. The weather was perfect with a full moon shining. When all of a sudden we heard a LOUD thump and the whole motor home shook. Drawers came open and cover on air conditioner vent fell onto the bed. Before we could gather our wits from the shock, there were at least a dozen fellow campers there to check on us. About 50 feet away across the street a tree had broken off about 10 feet up the trunk. The tree fell across the street barely missing a golf cart. It then hit another tree right next to our motor home and thankfully broke. We had been hit with top of the tree. There were two camp workers there. All of the people started to help remove the tree. Thankfully there was a fellow camper who owned a tree service. He took the lead and the tree was safely and carefully removed from our RV. Thank you once again to everyone who helped. Campers are such nice people. Thank you thank you. Before I contacted my insurance company, I called office for information. The office attendant was very careful to give me no information. We have yet to have any contact from owners. However a tree service is busy cutting down several trees. They call it an act of God. When a tree breaks off 10 feet from bottom???

I was apprehensive when the website said they preferred seasonal or long term rentals. Other RV parks with seasonal renter trend to look poorly and run down but Raccoon Holler was a very pleasant surprise. The park is well managed and maintained. Our site, 112, was quiet and very shaded in among the mountain rhododendrons. A fantastic location just a quarter mile off the Blue Ridge Parkway and nearby to West Jefferson with nice shops and crafts. I already plan to return. Make reservations in advance because sort term rentals are limited. We camped at Raccoon Holler Campground in a Travel Trailer.
