This a good place at a great price. The room was basic however it was very clean and there had been solid work done to update the bathroom. Location is great--right in the middle of town. They operate via web and text only. There is no front desk. So getting anything like towels or the like would be a bit more complicated that usual but no big deal. Especially for the rate you're paying.

Room was great. Only thing missing to me was a bar in the shower for senior citizen and our room didn't have air conditioning. Not a must but sure would be helpful. Also for allowing our dog. She loved it. Thanks for a great place to stay. Will return again. Thanks

TL;DR: Rainbow Lodge offers a convenient digital check-in and a large room, but cleanliness and maintenance issues make it a disappointing stay. Rainbow Lodge is a budget motel conveniently located on US 160 with the benefit of digital check-in, which was great for arriving late without needing to interact with staff. The room was large but sparsely furnished. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by several issues. The bed and pillows were just okay, but when I struggled to get comfortable, I discovered the sheets were not clean, with visible dirt and hair from a previous stay. The mattress had no cover, and the thin blanket provided was inadequate, with no additional bedding in the room. This left me sleeping fully clothed and poorly at that. Other maintenance issues included a broken toilet paper holder, no tissues, dresser drawers without knobs, and a dirty climate unit missing vents, which blew air directly onto the bed all night. While the location and digital check-in were convenient, the lack of cleanliness and poor upkeep overshadowed those positives. I wouldn’t recommend it unless significant improvements are made.

Electricity kept disconnected, not sure why. We weren't using much of the electricity. The room was very spacious and organized but didn't seem very clean. It had a strong smell of pets. It also self-service room entry. So you have to check your emails and messages and follow instructions. They're gonna send you instructions to enter the room. They assist you through phones if you have problems with the room.

The room was not ready when we arrived to check in at 3pm. We went to eat and came back at 4:30 and we were allowed to check in. the room was clean enough, but heat was provided by a gas (LPG or Natural Gas) radiant heater. It glowed bright orange, and I think it was a safety hazard since loose clothing could catch fire if too close. The main problem with the room was that the heater emitted fumes which gave my wife and I a headache. I would also question whether this heater would provide heat to the separate bedroom. We talked to the manager/owner, and since there were no other rooms available, she agreed to give us a refund and we left. Later, we found out she did not give us a full refund, but charged us for the first night. This was after she gave me a document showing we would get a full refund. After that, they never answered the phone or returned calls. Other problems were mostly cosmetic. There were large holes in the bedspreads and some clutter on shelves and cabinets. Pro Tip: Bring a hair dryer and shampoo.
