Rambadt Memorial Park
Overview
Rambadt Memorial Park serves as a serene retreat nestled within the city limits of Reed City, Michigan. This municipal gem offers a perfect balance between convenient access to the town and the immersive beauty of the Hersey River. It is widely recognized for its towering trees and well-spaced sites, providing a more rustic and peaceful atmosphere than many high-traffic commercial campgrounds. For RVers seeking a quiet escape into the woods, this park delivers a classic Michigan camping experience.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in the heart of Osceola County, the park is affectionately known for its location in the "Crossroads City." The wooded landscape creates a natural canopy that keeps the sites cool and shaded during the warm summer months. Travelers will find themselves surrounded by native Michigan flora, offering a secluded feel while remaining just minutes from local hardware stores and diners. The gentle flow of the river nearby adds a calming soundtrack to your stay.
Amenities & Park Features
The campground provides essential services for a comfortable stay, including electric hookups available at most sites to accommodate various rig sizes. While the park maintains a natural and rugged aesthetic, guests have access to modern restroom facilities and hot showers to stay refreshed. Families often enjoy the on-site playground and the expansive picnic areas, while the nearby dump station and potable water access serve as convenient utilities for those on longer road trips.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate that the park is a primary gateway to the White Pine Trail and the Pere Marquette Trail. These famous rails-to-trails paths are perfect for long-distance cycling or afternoon walks through the countryside. Additionally, the park features a challenging disc golf course that winds through the trees. Those looking to hit the water can enjoy direct river access for light paddling or fishing for local species right from the bank.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is an exceptional choice for trail enthusiasts looking for a convenient home base to explore Michigan’s extensive interconnected bike paths. It is also ideal for budget-conscious travelers who prefer a quiet, natural setting over the amenities of a luxury resort. If you value direct access to nature, historical rail-trails, and a peaceful night's sleep under a thick forest canopy, this municipal park fits your travel style perfectly.

This little park was a great stay. We contacted the host in the morning to see if we could stay the night. I asked them if they could save us a site and we would be coming in late. She had no problem with coming in at 11pm. She was waiting for us and helped us into one of there 15 sites. We plan on staying again and maybe a little longer than 8 hrs. There's a few trails to walk and a nice playground for the kids.
