Our stay at Ranch House RV Camping was fantastic! The campground was clean, peaceful, and surrounded by beautiful scenery. The RV sites were spacious, and everything was well maintained. The owners were kind, helpful, and made us feel right at home. If you're looking for a quiet and relaxing RV camping experience in Kentucky, this is the perfect place. We can't wait to visit again!

My husband and I, along with our five boys, have made this campground part of our Fourth of July tradition for the past three years. After speaking with Andy and Karen on several occasions, it’s clear how much they care about nature and how proud they are of this beautiful property. The river was a bit higher this year, which is obviously beyond their control, but we simply made sure the kids wore life jackets. Andy and Karen even offered some of their own if we needed them. Learning about the history of the lodge, then ending the day with hot homemade pizza and the best chili I’ve ever had (and I make a pretty good chili myself!) was the perfect way to wrap up a day outdoors. They’ve also added an incredible pirate ship themed play area for kids, which was such a fun surprise and a huge hit with our boys. It’s disappointing to see some of the negative reviews for this campground. This is a family-owned business, and Andy and Karen truly pour their hearts into maintaining and improving the property. It’s understandable that they become frustrated when guests disrespect the campground by painting rocks, leaving litter behind, or failing to clean up after their pets. The care and hard work they invest in this place are evident, and our family has always felt welcomed and appreciated during our visits. We look forward to returning again next year.

On May 18 I made a one night reservation in this RV/campground without service. We arrived to Ranch House Lodge on July 4, after having been in numerous campgrounds in the U.S. and Canada before arriving to Glennallen since June 22, the start of our trip. Only in one occasion we had a 15amp site. The rest were dry sites, sometimes in provincial parks in Canada, where there are no showers, but always access to water. We never had a problem in our camping life experiences with that issue. Our surprise was that, despite of having a bunch of dry sites for tents (or in our case a van), in Ranch House Lodge there was no common access to water, assuming that guests sleeping in tents don’t eat and therefore don’t have to do the dishes. When I inquired where to do the dishes, the lady in charge (very arrogant by the way), looked at me as if I was talking Marcian, and told me that I could do them in the bathroom. Let’s talk about the bathrooms. In the bathroom, there is no paper, hand sanitizer, or any basic item one may need for the toilet. The toilets, sinks and showers (only 2 sets for about a hundred people) are together, which means that if some teenager is taking a shower listening to music (and you can guess how long that can be), like it happened to me, I have to wait to be able to pee until they are done. Sites are barely 10 feet from each other, with absolutely no sense of privacy. It’s vary obvious they can make as much money as possible at the expense of having the space overcrowded. The position of certain sites, by the river, is hazardous in case of flooding, to say the least. The laundry room has only one washer and one dryer, you need coins but there is no machine to change money, you need to go to the bar/registration office to change (for us it involved to drive). And finally, it’s not located 8 miles from Glennallen as they say on their website but 16. Never stay here!!! Red flags all over the place!

Our group made reservations in February for a trip that was planned for July. A week or so before we were to arrive we found out about the Glacier View Car Launch. We needed to get to the event early so we called the Ranch House to see if we could drop off the camp trailers early. Karen (owner) made arrangements so we could drop off the trailers so we could drive back to the event. After we got back we enjoyed cocktails and pizza which were awesome. Karen was our waitress and is a quick witted lady. She shared stories of how her and her husband Andy came about owning a RV park an amazing story. I highly recommend this place and we will definitely be stopping here whenever we are in the area.

Situated between Valdez and Anchorage, this is the perfect spot. Quiet and peaceful. Not a partypark Just families and travelers enjoying being outside. It is the real Alaska you want to see. The sites are large and the tavern is a fun place to grab a drink and enjoy a pizza. The lodge itself is full of history and is quite beautiful inside.

Best place we’ve camped in weeks. The scenery is lovely with the river flowing through the campground. Access to fishing would be fantastic if it were a bit later in the season. Our hosts Karen and Andy were lovely. We chatted quite a bit in our 2 night stay. The history of the ranch is intriguing and their hospitality and charm made for a fun stay. Honestly, we had a lot of laughs together! They have charming little cabins, a variety of lovely camp sites that can accommodate any size rig or tent and the bathrooms are clean and easily located. The pride they take in improving their business is evident. We enjoyed a tasty cup of chili and yummy homemade pizza while playing cards in their main lodge with a large fireplace. The well stocked bar was a welcome site but the whiskey dessert sundaes were fantastic! I highly recommend the whiskey flight! Brownie sundae was delicious as well. Sad we have to leave today. Thank you Karen and Andy!

I called late in the afternoon for a cabin and they had one available called a baby bear. Well it was the cutest ! It is a dry cabin but next to a bathroom. Which also is the cutest. Pizza and a glass a wine at the bar. Guests all friendly, staff friendly. We were headed to Valdez so this stop was perfect. If you are traveling Alaska for rustic charm, beautiful scenery and warm friendly people, stop at the Ranch House

I went here with my family in August. We were tent camping. We had a bad experience. When checking in there was a man who was extremely rude. He wasn't expecting us to show up even though we had reservations well in advance. Next the water was said to be potable. But the shower's water came out brown and smelled of mud. Lastly the set of rule enforced by the campground seems quite intensive. The peace is also interrupted by the camp ground getting periodic patrols by a side by side.

We stayed here overnight on the way to Valdez and enjoyed it so much that we returned for two nights on the way back. The campground is right off the highway. Check-in was easy, and we were allowed to pick between two site options, and Karen was offering sites that were not next to another camper since the park wasn't full. We chose back-in site 52 with full hookups (50/30/20 AMP) in their new back area both times. Backing in was easy, and we appreciated that the pad has two sewer hookups, with water and electric centered. Water pressure was decent, around 40 psi. Pine trees surround many of the campsites; we had some, but still got a very usable Starlink signal. Verizon showed 4 bars and T-Mobile 1 bar. This campground is essentially off-grid Alaska, with all the challenges and rules that come with that. For example, black tank flushing isn’t allowed due to septic limitations, trash is burned on-site so flammable or unburnable items are prohibited, and the potable water may have some discoloration. The owners, Karen, who is very hospitable, and Andy, have put tremendous effort into creating this beautiful creekside campground. Campers are expected to respect the rules and Andy, rightfully so, lacks a bedside manner for those who do not. It was a delight to have no neighbors and a wonderful water-view site on Tolsona Creek, where we could hear the flowing water. There’s no formal dog park, but plenty of space to walk your dog. Arctic Grayling fishing was excellent while we were there in August. After over 360 reviews with RV Life, this campground ranks on our Top 10 list for Best Campground Experiences.

If you enjoy being spoken to like a misbehaving teenager and showering in swamp water while gnats nibble your soul, congratulations, this is the place for you. I booked this stay after emailing the owner (Andy) weeks in advance, confirming our group of five was okay, and paying in full. Once the day of the reservation hit, surprise! The refund window slammed shut and so did any chance of a respectful check-in. We walked into the bar (which doubles as check-in, because why not?), where a random guest said Andy would be out “shortly.” By "shortly," she meant “after you start questioning if this place is a prank.” When Andy finally appeared from the back, he greeted us not with “Hi” or “Welcome,” but “What are you doing here?” Cue the awkward silence. Despite our confirmed reservation, he insisted all the day’s guests had already arrived and we weren’t one of them. I had to pull out my phone and scroll through weeks of emails like I was defending myself in small claims court. Once he finally located my name on his sheet, his response wasn’t “Sorry for the mix-up,” but “Too many people. Should’ve charged you more.” Real five-star energy. Next came the infamous property map, one side shows where to pitch a tent, the other is a novella of rules. Highlights include: Don’t throw propane in the trash (he burns it himself, because apparently this is 1843) Don’t chop wood Don’t even think about breaking the rules because he has cameras watching everything At this point, the whole party was ready to leave, but it was late, we were exhausted, and we knew refunds were off the table. So we set up camp and tried to make the best of it. We brought our own firewood (you’re welcome), which helped with the mosquito apocalypse, but nothing could prepare us for the biting gnats. These were not your average bugs. These were tiny airborne demons sent straight from the underworld to test our patience. Let’s talk “amenities”: *The water, listed as potable, came out looking like someone brewed tea in a muddy boot and smelled like dead fish. *The bathhouse? One small, shared space that doubled as the bathroom. So yes, the toilet and shower are in the same tight room. On night two, the whole thing was flooded with stinky swamp water, and the floor mat was permanently soggy like it had just returned from battle. *Hot water? Generous description. Lukewarm at best. Our campsite view? Obstructed by a majestic pile of gravel, and the site next door featured an abandoned rusting trailer for ambiance. Then, just when we thought the chaos had quieted, Andy decided it was time for his late-night four-wheeler joyride through the campground. The only plus? There were trout in the river. Great if you like to fish. Not enough to save the experience. Final thoughts? This place has potential, it really does. But right now, it’s running on bad vibes, swamp water, and control issues. Andy might own the property, but he clearly doesn’t understand hospitality. I’ve had better stays in the literal wilderness, with outhouses and no electricity, and at least those places didn’t come with passive-aggressive lectures and surveillance vibes. Would I go back? Absolutely not. Would I recommend it? Only to people I don’t like.

Just had an awesome camping experience here! Karen and Andy are excellent hosts! The campsites are perfect and set up thoughtfully for the best use of space. Situated along the river with electric, water and sewer hookups. Our group enjoyed the lodge and bar where both Andy and Karen entertained us and gave us great cocktails! We will definitely be returning next year. I highly recommend for your next camping trip!

The owner was awesome. He told us the cabin was “rustic” and it was but we loved it. He kept the bar open late for us and baked handmade, delicious pizza for us. If you’re looking for a 5 star hotel, then this is not the place for you. If you’re looking for a true Alaska experience, THIS IS the place for you!

Spent 6 nights overlooking the creek. Class A towing a jeep. Great sites, level, power, water & sewer. Owners Karen & Andy are great hosts. They built this RV Park from the ground up. Pride of ownership is evident. Full bar, liquor store, and road kill chili. Pizzas aren't bad either. One of the best parks as we travel through Alaska.

Karen and Andy were the perfect host. The sites were amazing right on this beautiful creek. The bathrooms were the best bathroom I have ever used in a campground. They have a great bar and wonderful restaurant with pizza and famous chili. Great host who love to share the knowledge of the area. Also try the adult ice cream flight to die for.
