Rathbun Lake - COE/Buck Creek
Rathbun Lake is a reservoir located in Appanoose and Davis counties in Iowa. It is formed by the damming of the Chariton River and is the largest lake in the state. The lake is located near the towns of Moravia and Mystic, and is a popular destination for fishing, boating, and other recreational activities. The lake is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and is part of the Rathbun Lake Project. The lake is fed by several creeks, including Buck Creek, which flows into the lake near the town of Moravia. The lake is home to a variety of fish species, including largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish.
