I have stayed at this RV location a few times over the years and for me it’s always been a great stop over when heading on to Colorado mountains. The services are well maintained and the views of the valley are lovely. There’s often quite a bit of wildlife around also. I have to give a shoutout to the owner, I was traveling late on a Sunday night (past their closing), and the owner stayed open to accommodate my late arrival - after driving 700 plus miles that day, I can tell you it was most appreciated!

We have stayed at numerous campgrounds through the US and I have to say this is one of my favorite. It’s small. Very clean, It’s convenient right off of the I 25. I’m sorry we didn’t get to eat at the restaurant because they were getting ready to close for the season beautiful location. We had problems with our RV and they even helped get a repair person out there would love to come back and stay longer.

Needed a spot to pull the adventure van in for the night and stopped in hoping. They were happy to have us and gave us an amazing space overlooking the valley! My favorite thing about the place is that on the desk is a notice that everyone here wants to see the stars, keep your stadium lighting for somewhere else. And it was legit the most quiet and not overly lit campground I've been to in forever. Woke up to the best view of the valley as the sun was coming up. Highly recommend. Good people, good place.

Been traveling in my RV’s since I was a kid. Been full time for the past 5 years. Rhonda and Mike are two of the best people and business owners I’ve met along the way. The spot is great with great views and a is convenient stop between Texas and Colorado. But the family vibe is what makes this place great. It was a Sunday (Father’s Day no less) and the “down time” between checkout and the next check ins. When I went to leave I discovered that my rig had a major mechanical/electrical problem causing the exterior stairs to stay out. I was going to have to stay put and cancel plans with friends. Mike wouldn’t have it. He came out, analyzed the problem, fixed it, wouldn’t accept my offer to pay and sent me on my way. I made it to my meet with that old friend and we toasted Mike and Rhonda. A really great family run business.

This is our second time to stay at Raton Pass. The view is just breathtaking and the location is perfect. We needed to stay an extra day because of a really bad rain/snow/wind storm that came through the day we were to check out. The Owners understood and welcomed us to stay the extra day for our safety. The restrooms are spotless and roomy. The Owners are the nicest Host we have met in a very long time. Caring, knowledgeable and present if you need them. Thank you for a wonderful stay at your RV park. We will be back.

Nice little campground by I-25. Sits way above the weigh station at Raton Pass so there is some noise but the view trumps that. Ask for the sites with a view. Slightly more $ but worth it. They will direct you in. Very down home operation. Will definitely return if in the area. Trinidad, CO is nearby for shopping.

We were just there for an overnight coming back to Texas from Wyoming. They were so very helpful and friendly! Our spot was adorable with a beautiful sunset. Bathrooms and showers were the best we have experienced yet! Great place!

One of our favorites on the way to Colorado from Texas. The views are spectacular and we find old roads to hike with our dog. An early morning hike down the hill from the campground included viewing elk from about 25 yards. No bears, but There are some in the area. The bathroom and laundry were closed last year but open this year, and were clean and functional. Sites with views are first to go, but worth the effort if you can get them.

We were traveling with another family and decided at the last minute to stay in Raton. We stopped at another campground in the town and didn't feel it would be a good fit, so we called this one. The owner answered and said they could accommodate our 25 foot and 41 foot trailers. By the time we arrived 15 minutes later, the manager was ready for us and showed us to our site. It's a small campground with 29 spots. The restrooms and laundry area are clean. Because it's at the top of the pass, we had a great view. We were happy with our stay.

Extra gracious host. We had booked online not realizing an Arctic blast had frozen in the camp ground. We arrived just after sundown and they could have easily sent us down the mountain, but rather they personally helped guide us in to a nice a flat RV spot which was greatly appreciated based on ice on the grounds. Great views. We will add this to our future stops when travel from Texas to Colorado.
