We stayed at the Johnson Branch area and loved the campground. Some of the sites have water access directly on them!! It was a very quiet place to stay. Our trip only had two nights to stay. However, we wish we had a lot more time to stay here. Well worth the distance from Aubrey being it's on the north side of the lake. Plan your trip ahead of arrival since it's a popular campground!!

We had such a great time at this state park. Very friendly and helpful rangers, clean and fun park. We stayed over the weekend in our RV (site 71) and had a great time. Most folks settled down after the sun dropped. Campers were helpful and friendly. This was our first time camping in our new RV and I think we are spoiled. Love this park! We can't wait to come back.

Great park! Very well maintained and clean. Multiple camping options, some very close to the lakefront. There’s a nice boat ramp and a swimming area. The campsites are well spaced, equipped with charcoal grills and picnic tables.

I love Johnson branch. I like here on a regular basis. With my state park access card it only cost about $75 a year for day pass and that’s good at any Texas State Park across the state. They have a number of mountain bike trails and hiking trails from easy to slightly more difficult. There’s not a lot of terrain changes so if you training for a climb, this is not the place. They have a nice beach and playground. Public restrooms are very available around each of the camping sites.

Enjoyed our day trip to Lake Ray Roberts state park today. The scenic views and tranquil atmosphere made for a perfect getaway. The park offered a diverse range of flora and fauna, and the cool breeze from the lake was a welcome respite from the scorching sun. We took full advantage of the well-maintained hiking trails, and the picturesque lake offered ample opportunities for photographs and memories to cherish. Overall, it was a wonderful day trip that left us feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
