Stayed a night between travels. Sites are big and pull thru. We reserved a spot close to bathhouse since it was going to get below freezing the night we stayed. When we pulled in we were told to pick another site because they were doing work ok the grounds, which was fine there was plenty of other spaces. Woke up the next morning to shower before leaving and the womens side was "shut down for cleaning" but when I opened the door looks like they were remodeling it or working on it- needless to say I used the men's restroom👀. Nobody in the office when we checked in but a # was left to call , Rose was very nice and helpful. Beautiful views in this little town. Dog park was all the way at the front of the park. It is right off the highway so you can here trucks throughout the night, which isn't an issue for us. Not a lot of lights which we loved so we could see all the stars. Overall still a nice campground and would stay again.

We had to get off the interstate due to high winds pretty early in the day. Management was very responsive and found us a huge spot to accommodate our rig and another truck with trailer at no extra cost. Lot was level and the park is in a great location. We were very appreciative of their hospitality with a great price too.

A welcome oasis in windy Wyoming! We stayed for a little over a week here and were quite impressed with the facility. Sure, there are weeds. This time of year, they are dried and dead, and to some an eyesore. We read a bunch about weeds on the reviews we saw before deciding to stay here. However, it some weeds are going to be the ‘big thing’ that bothers you, I’m not sure you can be pleased very easily if the first place. I digress. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this campground. Sites are gravel and relatively level, certainly no big issues there. The water and sewer connections were serviceable and located appropriately at the site. Electricity was great (30 & 50 amp, as well as 20 Amp connections). The amenities are better than “ok”, they take pride in the cleanliness of the restrooms/showers and the park in general. It’s windy here at times so there’s bound to be a potato-chip bag blowing around once in a while, but we saw staff actively patrolling the park to pick up any stray items like that. Sites are a wee bit cramped, but we had no next door neighbors while we were here so it wasn’t a problem for us. There is a dog park (didn’t use) and a playground area for kids (didn’t use) as well as mini golf (didn’t use – but looked like fun!). We did use the laundry equipment and the restroom/showers areas. Very impressed with the cleanliness and functionality of the equipment. They also have a store in the office area and a change machine (in laundry area) which is greatly appreciated by folks like us. Finally, there are little touches that they are bringing back to life as they have time and bandwidth. For example, the lanes in the park are all appropriately western-themed for Wyoming. Really cute and likely very appealing as they restore certain areas bit by bit. This staff is small but works really hard to make guests happy. The surrounding area of Rawlins is very close by and has most of what people need. You’ll l also find Walmart, restaurants, fuel stations, grocery, and other entertainment. Biggest tip we can give you is to DEFINITELY check out the Wyoming Frontier Prison in Rawlins. $15 for the tour (well worth it) and the museum is free. The hours are seasonal, so plan accordingly.

We stayed here for one night and had a great experience. Everything worked perfectly — the site was level, and the bathrooms were very clean. It’s also in a nice area with a playground, dog park, and walking trails nearby. The price was very reasonable (around $50 per night), especially compared to nearby sites that are $70–80. Overall, a peaceful and well-maintained place to stay. Highly recommend!

My family had a fantastic stay at the Red Desert Rose complex and was impressed by the beautiful scenery and landscape . Chrystal made check-in so easy and welcoming. From the moment I arrived, Chrystal made the check-in process warm, friendly, and effortless — her professionalism and genuine care for guests set the tone for the rest of my visit. It’s clear that the new owners have worked hard to make this a clean, safe, and inviting place for campers. Gone are the days of overgrown grass, weeds, and tired landscaping. The grounds are now neat, well-kept, and a pleasure to walk through. Everything feels organized, cared for, and thoughtfully maintained, creating a peaceful atmosphere where you can truly relax. I felt safe, welcome, and appreciated during my stay — and I’ll definitely be coming back. The Red Desert Rose is a top-notch stop for travelers!
