Love going here. Good trails, clean, and quiet. You can go for a trail ride on your mountain bike, walk and enjoy the scenery, or take some of the more adventurous trails for a bit more of a challenge. Very accessible spot in Birmingham

Paved Trail, OK for Bicycles, Trail Needs Maintenance, Rough Surface in areas, Surface Color Hides Debris ... Would Not Recomend for Skates.

Great trail for mountain biking, NOT a great trail for hiking. It’s basically a dirt road on the back side of Red Mountain. It doesn’t feel like “a hike in the woods”. The parking lot itself is fine, there’s some cool “ruins” right at the parking lot entrance. Parking in this lot is closer to the “giant chairs” than the front entrance. If you want to hike with your family or dog, the other entrance is better.

Great new option for accessing the park as well as a connector trail to High Ore Line Trail (Freshwater Land Trust's Red Rock Trail System). The asphalt surface on the connector is perfect for smooth mostly flat cycling or inline skating (about 1.5mile over to the original south end of High Ore Line Trail).

Entrance not marked but otherwise great!

Large park with miles of trails. It’s an archeological park. Remains of a large mining operation that built the Birminghan area. Coal, iron ore, and marble can all be easily found.

Back entrance to Red Mountain via Venice Road. Great walking/hiking spot with trails, tree houses, swings, tables, old mine shafts, giant chairs, and a dog park. Free admission, but donations are welcomed.
