It's not too bad, the campsite host lady was really nosey and kinda rude, didn't even introduce herself before she started grilling me for information and about what my " camping apparatus" was. No actually working bathroom either just a permanent portapotty style one not even a sink to wash ur hands.

All sites are unlevel and very close to one another. About 10 sites. Vault toilet but clean. Very small campground. Camp attendant, Julia, was very nice and helpful. Nothing to do at this campground. Maybe fishing.

Pros: Great view Rocky shoreline Secluded and small, only 11 spots Water & Electric hookups My kids are older and enjoy the rocks and all the crawling things they can catch Cons: No shower house Toilets are old hole in ground style Sites 1 & 2 are very sloped. My camper tongue was on the ground, and it still was not level. No dump station Must drive to Hawthorn to dump or use shower. I would say not toddler friendly, Rocky with some steep areas.

The view is wonderful! Our site had a fire ring, picnic table, post grill, and big shade trees. Really the only drawback was the restrooms are the smelly outhouse style and no showers. Still, we'll definitely visit again. It's so peaceful, the rates are great, and the trees are so nice! Also, yes they are dog friendly.

We really enjoyed the scenery and quiet; peaceful. The Army Corps of Engineers have done an amazing job in making this place a great stop. I-40 /44 can be a rough trek. Enjoy this beautiful setting and recharge for your next journey.
