Redcliff Campground (City Park)
Overview
Redcliff Campground is a welcoming municipal destination located within the town of Redcliff, Alberta. Often referred to as the Greenhouse Capital of the Prairies, this park offers a charming, low-key atmosphere for travelers looking to experience southern Alberta’s unique landscapes. The park is managed by the town and provides a well-maintained, tree-lined setting that feels more like a community retreat than a standard highway stop. It is a perfect choice for those who value simplicity and proximity to local conveniences while still enjoying a sense of natural beauty.
Location & Surroundings
The campground is perched near the scenic cliffs of the South Saskatchewan River valley, offering campers access to stunning views just a short walk away. Its location in Redcliff provides a quieter environment compared to neighboring Medicine Hat, yet remains conveniently located just off the Trans-Canada Highway. The surrounding area is characterized by vast prairies and coulees, with several scenic walking trails weaving through the nearby coulee systems, allowing visitors to stretch their legs and take in the rugged Alberta terrain.
Amenities & Park Features
Redcliff Campground provides essential facilities designed for comfort and convenience. Most sites are equipped with 30-amp electrical hookups and potable water access. While individual sewer hookups are not available, a centralized sani-dump station is easily accessible for all guests. Each site features a private fire pit and a picnic table, perfect for evening relaxation. The park also includes seasonal washroom and shower facilities, and a playground area, making it a functional choice for both short stays and longer visits to the region.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Guests at the park are steps away from the Riverview Golf Club, a popular spot for those looking to hit the links against a backdrop of the river valley. A short drive into Medicine Hat brings you to the world’s tallest tepee, the Saamis Tepee, and the historic Medalta in the Historic Clay District. For nature enthusiasts, the nearby Echo Dale Regional Park offers swimming and fishing, while the vast greenhouse operations in Redcliff provide unique local shopping opportunities for fresh produce and plants.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is an ideal fit for budget-conscious RVers who prefer the quiet, friendly vibe of a municipal campground over a large commercial resort. It is a fantastic option for families who appreciate on-site space for children to play and for travelers looking for a serene home base while exploring the attractions of southeastern Alberta. If you enjoy mature trees, birdwatching, and easy access to both town amenities and river valley trails, Redcliff Campground will suit your travel style perfectly.

The sign that reads "No first come, no first serve" would be better if it read. "Reservations are required". The washrooms were super clean and the free showers were nice .

Adequate little campground for an overnighter. New washroom and shower facility appears to be shared with the baseball diamonds, but is kept very clean. There aren't as many trees as the map appears to show. However, it was nice to have a bit more space between campsites and one didn't feel they were looking into the neighbour's trailer as with the RV Camping Parking lots. There was a small dog park within walking distance and a great bike track down the street. Hopefully, with the continued upgrades, the town will plant more trees around the campsites for shade. 🌳

Decent pull through site. Washrooms are clean. 50 amp service. There is potable water at the entrance and a dump station but nothing in the individual sites except power. Very little shade and a ton of gophers. Very handy for visiting family. Most sites are occupied by trades workers. 14 day maximum stay. No online reservation system. First come first served. Nice and tidy

$40 a night seems steep for this campground. We have electricity at our site, no water or sewar, dry and dead grass, and few trees. The showers are nice, but like mentioned by another reviewer, they are open to anyone who is in the area. It'll do in a pinch if you can't get into the Gas City Campground.

Amazing restrooms with free showers. Great for a one night stop on the way across the country. There were plenty of trailers and rvs here when we arrived, but the ground was suitable for tenting. You are a little exposed in this campground, but that's fine for one night. I wouldn't hesitate to stop over here again on my way back.
