The campsites are very nice. Apparently, they underwent some renovations with new concrete pads and blacktop resurfacing. Plenty of room for even the largest 5th Wheels. You are in a wooded area right off of the state highway. Along with some other friends, we were in spots very near to the front gate / registration area. It still seemed like we were farther back in the woods. All of the camp hosts, volunteers and park rangers were extremely helpful and friendly. My friends who were camping with in their 5th Wheels had numerous dogs and the park is definitely pet friendly. Here is where my rating starts to fall.... it is nowhere near any body of water, creek or large puddle for all that matters. It was scorching hot almost every day, with heat indexes always above 100°!!! Minus 1 Star. Then there's the bugs..... flies and gnats during the day until dusk before the crickets and frogs alert you of the incoming danger headed your way.... the prehistoric mosquitoes!!! They have been rumored to carry away small dogs. They are NO JOKE!!! Come prepared. We were there toward the end of June and the bug population was insane!!!! Minus 1 Star. Sorry, not sorry.

We rarely camp at the same place twice. This is one we'd come back to again for the 3rd time. Redman Creek West seemed to be older people, (We qualify for that) The East side is more family. It's campsites have been renovated with concrete pads and all full hook up. Back to the West side (across the street) we had a great private site. FHU, great water pressure, clean site, concrete pads. Love ACOE campgrounds. Shout out to the host 🌟Peggy J🌟 for her kindness and helpfulness. She is caring, making sure your enjoying your stay There are 3 flea markets nearby...eh. But one you should not miss is Country Bumpkins. It's really an antique/vintage mall. Most at really greaat prices.. I filled the back seat up with some beautiful items. Poplar Creek is about 22 minutes away. City like with plenty of good restaurants. BW was pretty good. Bread and Butter for lunch was good.

Very nice campground! Level parking pads. Cement patios. Deep fire rings. Lantern stands with hooks. New coated metal picnic tables. Paved roads. Super clean bathrooms that double as storm shelters. Nice, large playground. Lots of shade. Extremely friendly host. Walking trails through woods. Just perfect

The ladies at the office are very sweet and informative. The sites are clean with big concrete pads and you are not all packed in. It is quiet at night pretty early it seems like but that was good for me. You can walk and be social or stay to yourself and nobody will bother you. We had a nice time. The spillway was moving fast while we were there which was pretty cool.

Really liked this place. Had a nice spot in the campground. Just not much to do in the area other than camping.
