Redwood Acres Fairgrounds

Overview

Redwood Acres Fairgrounds offers a functional and straightforward RV camping experience right in the heart of Humboldt County. As a multi-use event facility, the fairgrounds provide a reliable home base for travelers exploring the rugged Northern California coast. It is not a luxury resort, but rather a clean, well-managed stopover that puts you minutes away from the region’s famous old-growth forests and historic Victorian architecture.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in a quiet residential pocket of Eureka, CA, the park provides a sense of community while remaining accessible to major transit routes. The fairgrounds are surrounded by mature trees and open spaces, offering a breather from the typical highway-side RV park. You are positioned perfectly to enjoy the maritime climate of the Pacific Northwest, where foggy mornings often give way to crisp, clear afternoons perfect for scouting the local landscape.

Amenities & Park Features

The RV area features level sites equipped with full hookups including 30 and 50-amp electrical service. Travelers appreciate the convenience of the facilities provided on the grounds. Key features include:

  • Clean on-site restrooms and showers
  • Spacious pull-thru access for larger rigs
  • Gravel or paved pads with easy maneuverability

Because this is a fairgrounds, the layout is open and functional, catering to those who appreciate a no-nonsense approach to camping while still having the basics covered.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Just a short drive away is the enchanting Sequoia Park Zoo, where you can walk among the giants on the Redwood Sky Walk. History buffs will love exploring Old Town Eureka, known for its beautifully preserved Victorian buildings and local artisan shops. For outdoor enthusiasts, the fairgrounds serve as a gateway to the Redwood National and State Parks, where miles of hiking trails lead through some of the tallest trees on Earth.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal choice for practical travelers who prioritize a central location and essential utilities over high-end resort frills. It is particularly well-suited for those attending local festivals or equestrian events held on the fairgrounds. If you are looking for a secure, hassle-free place to park your rig while spending your days exploring the Humboldt Bay area, Redwood Acres provides exactly the right balance of utility and convenience.

Along Harris street near Myrtle Ave is the Redwood Acres site with a couple of large event buildings and a large gravel parking lot with more parking on Harris and across the street. Events here like the gem and mineral, flea market and crafts fair are well attended even with the entrance fee. The flea market is like a mix of craft fair and garage sale spaces with some antiques and plant sales. It's a form of entertainment and you might hunt up something you need or find a gift for someone. I subtracted one star due to locating the disabled person permit parking spaces across the street rather than next to the building.
