Great place to stay south of Avenue of the Giants. We stayed in a cute cabin. Food in the onsite restaurant was good. They have nice play facilities for kids. When we forgot something in the room after checking out, they called and were going to work out a way to get it to us.

If you’re looking for a fabulous Northern California redwoods camping experience, I can’t recommend Redwoods River Resort & Campground enough. This place truly has it all. The RV and campsite areas are beautiful, the bathrooms and showers are always clean, and the entire resort feels welcoming and family friendly. One of the absolute highlights is the Pub. The food is amazing. The jumbo pretzel with beer cheese is a must try, and the Lola Burger is hands down one of the best burgers. Great food, cold drinks, and an awesome atmosphere after a day exploring the redwoods. Whether you’re camping with family, friends, or just looking for a relaxing getaway by the river, this place delivers every time. Easy 10/10 experience and one of the best campground RV resorts in the area. Highly recommend! Ask for Billie, she's the best!

Unfortunately pretty location is the only thing it’s got, and friendly staff. Those are the reasons I am not giving it one star. We stayed for a couple of nights in the main cabin, not the campgrounds. The people above us were having a party until 10 pm with kids and guests from other parts of the campground, and the noise was unbearable. The kids were playing outside yelling and throwing shoes out the window, and the parents didn’t care, they even had an active flame unattended while cooking (and everything is made of wood). Different employees from the pub even came out twice to call them out and they did not care. There is no staff there overnight so thats a problem. Thankfully, the next morning the staff could accommodate us in another room for the next night. Although we were up at 6 am anyway because the people above us were walking around. The floors are super super creaky so every time the people above you wake up, you will be awake too. You can even hear their TV and their conversations. The beds are horrible, super super soft. The bathrooms are clean but the floors are dirty. You can see my socks in the picture; I had worn them for one hour before going to bed and they were black. Problem is that there are no competitive lodging options up there. It is very rural and there is no service or internet anywhere.

Redwoods River Resort gave us some of the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. While we were trying to book for a family visit to the redwood forest, they actually helped us find several other nearby campgrounds at cheaper rates, then followed up afterward to make sure we’d secured a spot. That kind of honest, above-and-beyond support is rare, and it’s exactly why I’ll recommend them to anyone planning a redwoods trip.

Our stay here was perfect. We rented the firehouse cabin for a couple of nights. We were 4 adults and 2 of us slept in the bunk beds without a problem. The cabin had all the amenities we needed and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for visiting the Avenue of the giants and the redwoods. Good value for the money.
