Disappointing experience after 5 years of loyalty – a stay we should revisit for our safety - Chalet Dumont For the past five years, every summer since our son's birth, we have chosen a Sépaq-managed cabin surrounded by nature to recharge our batteries as a family. Until now, we had always experienced moments of peace, beauty, and simplicity. This year, unfortunately, the experience was completely different. Let's start with the positives: the cabin was clean, well-maintained inside, with a magnificent view of the lake and the surrounding nature. The interior space was adequate for a family, with three bedrooms, a very well-equipped kitchen, and the usual tranquility of the place was certainly present. However, several elements made our stay difficult—even unsafe. Upon our arrival, the outdoor trash can hadn't been emptied. The smell was unbearable, and it had clearly attracted an impressive number of flies and beetles. It was impossible to eat outside without being invaded. Inside, we quickly noticed the presence of mice. Not only did they gnaw some of our supplies, but they were making noise all night—presumably gnawing at the very structure of the cabin. This seriously affected the quality of our sleep, as we are very afraid of mice. We were also very surprised to learn that there were no electrical outlets in the cabin. This information, if it is indicated somewhere, should be much more clearly displayed at the time of booking. Furthermore, no cell phone coverage was available on site, which raises real questions in the event of an emergency. When traveling with a child, this detail becomes a major concern. Finally, although the lake looks beautiful, it turned out to be unsafe for swimming. While cautiously entering, I slipped on a loose rock and nearly broke my leg. It would be wise to assess the access to the lake or warn users of the potential dangers. We thank God that no serious incidents occurred, but we leave this stay with a feeling of disappointment and concern. Our family has always encouraged this type of nature tourism, but we hope Sépaq takes these comments seriously. Wild nature is certainly part of the experience—but a minimum of safety, exterior cleanliness, and clear information are essential when welcoming families. In any case, if you're planning a quiet, safe family getaway, do your research before choosing this type of cabin if you're a family like us. It's a place for the more adventurous.

We went kayaking on Lake Rimouski. We were very well received! We had a beautiful place! The people gave us good advice on where to go kayaking. To reach Lake Rimouski, you have to travel 40 km on a relatively well-maintained gravel road, considering the location.

What a beautiful area with its lakes, wildlife and forest!!! Well-equipped cottages for exceptional fishing with unlimited access to Lake Rimouski and access to the various other lakes, each as beautiful as the others.

I was very excited to visit this place, and didn't let the poor reviews discourage me, but unfortunately they were right. They send you to fishing lakes but it seems there are no fish! The lake is 1 meter deep only. Also 40 km on a dirt road with poor indication.

a place that I do not recommend for anyone takes a package all included but he sends us on a lake and there is no fish after 4 hours of fishing with 4 people not a key have returned to the reception to change the lake he says that know normal know a lake for this swim we can always go in the river to try not too well served very disused of this outfitter

I was super happy to go to rimouski fishing! But no trout with a lake full of alguessss half the lake not possible with a motor! You take a chalet advertised with a bedroom with a double bed a single bed and the second 2 single bed and a sofa bed but you don't have a double bed! No service at reception! Fishing rod not functional, none on 5 that throws more than 10 feet when you take everything included! But the engine is hot you can walk in the seaweed but turn bars quickly otherwise you will row! Worst place of my life! Go to the river near you instead🤫
