Rio Chama is soooo beautiful! The people who run it are extremely nice and accommodating, and made our stay perfect! It's a charming campground, set alongside a beautiful stream and near the historic train station. It's quiet, peaceful, gorgeous, and in a small town. Bigger places are easily drivable, but we enjoyed the calm, quiet of Chama. Will definitely go back!

One of the most peaceful and beautiful places we have stayed at in a long time. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful on arrival. They even went out of thier way to help with our RV/camper slot issue. When we arrived our 20 ft camper wouldn't fit in slot along with our 20 ft truck. They moved us to a larger slot and got us all set up. As mentioned in the beginning the place is peaceful and beautiful. The staff definitely takes pride in the property. Will definitely be back in the spring.

Very nice RV park. Accommodating as well! We arrived and found the site was to small for us. Moved us to another site that was perfect. No extra charge for the site either! Polite people, quiet neighbors and the utilities(water, power and sewer) were well set up and worked just fine.

We stayed 3 nights in our travel trailer with full hook-ups. The park was very quite, very clean, and the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. It felt like they were genuinely happy to have us as guests. The RV park is dog friendly and even has a dog exercise and play area. The park is situated next to the river and you can watch the trains go by pulled by 100 year old Baldwin steam locomotives. We highly recommend this RV park, you won't disappointed. Also, the park is located adjacent to the Cumbres & Toltec Railroad depot. Chama and the railroad are a unique bit of history where you can experience a 100+ year old rail trip through the Old West.

My family and I have been going to this rv park for years now. We love it. Staff is friendly and it's always clean. Seeing the wildlife and the train go by is always a good bonus as well. Everytime we get a different rv spot and they have been as good or better than the one before.

So nice and helpful. They keep it so clean and there is a dog park here also. They sell ice cream in the office too . We had an up front view of the Cumbres and Toltec train from our spot going right over the river.

The RV park had received a lot of rain and there are low spot on the RV pads were your stairs/steps line up, so water puddles at your RV door. The place has a mixture of big gravel and some tiny gravel that gets tracked in to your trailer. Constantly vacuuming to avoid stepping with bare feet. The location is ideal for the historic railway.

Horrible place to stay, do not like kids there very rude. If you take your kids you basically have to cage them up. This place is more for dog lovers not families. Prejudice against natives. I will never recommend this place to anyone from New Mexico.

We were so looking forward to our trip to this rv park - we had a medical situation that forced us into canceling 3+ weeks in advance - we had paid a $400 deposit- when asked about our refund we were told we only got back $150 - it took 3 phone calls from them to try to explain this number - they were equally confused on how their policy worked - if you are planning a stay please be aware if you have to cancel you will be screwed up!!! nice people on the phone and embarrassed that this was all we got back - just be forewarned!!

I stayed here in early October of 2024 in the middle of a long-distance backpacking route. The staff was not just friendly but very welcoming. This isn't always the case when people see that you are living out of a backpack, so that was very important to me. Awesome budget-friendly option that included a tent spot with picnic table and fire ring, toilets, showers, laundry, and common area out of the cold with seating and charging outlets. I felt safe as a solo female traveler and always appreciate codes on bathroom doors. Also, watching the train take off in the morning was pretty cool.

Been staying at Rio Chama RV park for several years every time I go to the Cumbres Toltec railroad. The staff is great and very helpful. They keep the park very clean and inviting.

We have been on the road for almost 3 months and arrived at Rio Chama RV park and were greeted right away and escorted to our amazing site right on the river. Now that would by itself would have been great. But wait...we could see and hear the steam locomotive cross the train trestle as well! People come from all over for their train ride as did we the next day. Everyone here was pleasant helpful & even helped us back out from their beautiful tree covered park. We'll be back & the train ride is a must.

It is a great RV park! Well maintained. The staff were excellent and helpful. The train and the river were behind our site, we enjoyed our stay.

Wow all the other review wasn’t kidding about this place. I never ever write a review about any where I go but this place I have to do it. This place is for 75+ and over. The camp site is really nice but the full timer isn’t. My 2 yo accidentally walk over to pick up some wood and the guy came out and said don’t walk over the there people spaces. This camp ground is really nice but if you wanna stay a few day look else where cause your not welcome here
