Overview

Rio Del Sol RV Haven offers a peaceful retreat situated along the banks of the Colorado River. This park caters to travelers looking for a mix of desert sunshine and refreshing water access. Unlike high-traffic resorts, this haven provides a more laid-back atmosphere where guests can enjoy the natural beauty of the California-Arizona border. It is a well-maintained destination for those seeking a balance of relaxation and outdoor recreation.

Location & Surroundings

Located in the community of Big River, California, the park sits just across the water from Arizona. The area is defined by the contrast between the shimmering blue river and the rugged desert mountains. Visitors will find that the location offers easy access to the water while remaining close enough to the town of Parker for essential supplies. The scenic views of the surrounding landscape make it a quiet alternative to busier riverfront spots.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is designed with convenience in mind, offering full hookup sites that accommodate various rig sizes with 30 and 50-amp service. One of the standout features is the private boat launch, allowing guests to get onto the Colorado River with ease. On-site facilities include clean restrooms, showers, and a laundry room to ensure a comfortable stay. The sites are generally level and provide enough space for slide-outs, making it a functional choice for both short stops and extended stays.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

The Colorado River is the primary draw for visitors, perfect for boating, jet skiing, and fishing. For those who prefer land-based adventures, the surrounding desert offers numerous trails for off-roading and hiking. A short drive away, you can visit the Parker Dam, known for its impressive engineering and history. Golf enthusiasts and those looking for dining can head into nearby Parker, Arizona, to explore local riverside restaurants and various entertainment venues.

We really enjoyed our stay at Reo Del Sol Haven! The campground is right a long the Colorado River and we enjoyed lots of scenic views from both the camp and a walking trail that runs along the river. If you have an off-roading vehicle there are tons of trails around the area. Between the desert mountain views and the Colorado River views, it’s a beautiful area to explore. Everyone here was super friendly and helpful. It’s a cute, quiet (we stayed in February), and dog-friendly campground. It’s about 15 minutes from Parker, where you can get your groceries. Definitely would recommend staying here and we plan on coming back.

We’ve stayed here for the winter season for the past 3 years and will continue to come back! It’s a wonderful park with lots of activities and it’s right on the river. Gorgeous views, places to walk, space to relax, and has quiet & friendly RVers. The managers, Jeaneen & Sean, are fantastic, always friendly, helpful, and caring. Can’t say enough wonderful words about Rio Del Sol!!!

I called several times around 7:30 in the evening and rang through to a message of a woman's friendly sounding voice stating that the manager was on the other line or out in the park. Ironically, the man who returned my calls was very aggressive and wanted to know "what is your emergency?" and why I was "blowing up the phone" -- whatever that means. He hung up on me before I could explain that my phone had bad service in the desert. Reading the several other one-star reviews, there seems to be a repeated history of a male employee or manager who is aggressive and rude. I suggest you read them before planning a stay at Rio Del Sol if you are not comfortable dealing with this kind of behavior. There are alternative parks nearby. Big River RV park is the one I chose. They were happy to answer my call and found me a space. I consider it good luck that I did not have the misfortune to stay at Rio Del Sol.
