2nd time here. 1st time 2019, and then memorial weekend this year 2024. This is the quietest and cleanest off grid site I have been in. My site was a little difficult to get in with a 36' 5th wheel ( Trees on both side of the truck backing) , but most of the other ones would have been no problem. I would still do it again. Great Place

Great campground right on a beautiful clear river with mountainous backdrops. I would totally recommend this campsite to anyone looking to be off grid and off the beaten path. Be aware that there is absolutely no signal with AT&T, Verison, or TMobile, so be prepared. There is only one site in the campground with power. All other sites are just the pad with no water, or power and the campground has no sewer hookup or dump station so prepare for this as well.

Absolutely our favorite off-grid camping! No hook ups, but water is available to haul back to campsite. Zero cell service. Might be a terrible way to start off a review, but this place is beautiful, peaceful, and calming. Sites are very large, vault toilets are the cleanest we have seen, and the views are amazing. Highly recommend!! ** We didn’t reserve our site prior to arriving and were able to get a “first come first serve” ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND. We were shocked that it worked out.. btw, camp hosts are helpful and their dedication to the campground is apparent:)

Very nice FS campground with large sites and good separation. Gravel roads and spires all fairly level. Elk Creek is adjacent to the campground. Campground host Keith and Linda did an excellent job of maintaining the place.

This was taken on the drive from Chama just above Elk creek. I would love to explore that area.

Beautiful campground and wonderful hosts! Had a great time!! Very clean non-flush toilets. Elk Creek off the Conejos runs right through the campground.

Scam! Be aware! The privatelly contracted hosts at this site are giving reservations for first-come first-served supposedly "non-reservabke" sites. These sites are not reservations on ReserveAmerica so people are calling in. If you arrive early thinking you might be able to find a site you will see that all have been "reserved" even though they are walk-in and no one has arrived yet.

No campfires??? It was 28 at night, and without being made aware of the "no open flame" warning, we weren't as prepared for tent camping as usual. Maybe be clear on the reservation and information website. Beautiful park and helpful camp managers.

Beautiful area. Best kept campgrounds we’ve been to in several years. Jeff and Fran are great camp hosts. They are knowledgeable of the area and the recommendations they made for us on sight seeing made are trip so memorable. We will be frequenting this site for years to come.
