Ripple Rock RV Park At Brown's Bay Resort
Overview
Ripple Rock RV Park At Brown's Bay Resort offers a unique coastal experience positioned directly on the edge of the Discovery Passage. Known for its spectacular views of passing cruise ships and local marine life, this park combines the rugged beauty of Northern Vancouver Island with high-quality facilities. Situated roughly 19 kilometers north of Campbell River, the park is nestled within a lush rainforest canopy overlooking the famous Seymour Narrows. This specific location is historically significant as the site of the Ripple Rock explosion and remains a hub for marine traffic. Guests can enjoy watching massive vessels navigate the narrow channel from the comfort of their sites. The surrounding terrain is characterized by towering evergreens and rocky outcrops, offering a true coastal wilderness experience while remaining accessible via paved roads.

The resort is designed with modern conveniences in mind, featuring large, level sites equipped with full 30 and 50-amp hookups. Essential park features include:
- Paved pads and manicured landscaping for all sites.
- Access to the Narrows Floating Restaurant during the summer season.
- On-site fitness center and modern clubhouse for guest use.

Every site includes water, sewer, and cable television, ensuring a comfortable stay for big rigs and smaller units alike. One of the standout features is the immediate proximity to the full-service marina and boat launch.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Nature enthusiasts will find plenty to explore, starting with the Ripple Rock Trail, which offers a challenging hike leading to a panoramic viewpoint of the narrows. Being in the Salmon Capital of the World, world-class fishing charters are readily available from the marina. Visitors can also take short drives to Elk Falls Provincial Park to see the dramatic suspension bridge or book wildlife viewing tours to spot grizzly bears and orcas. The area is a sanctuary for those who love beachcombing, kayaking, and landscape photography.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is ideal for active retirees and marine lovers who appreciate a quiet, upscale environment focused on the outdoors. It is particularly well-suited for boaters who want to combine RVing with ocean access, as well as photographers looking to capture the dramatic movements of the Discovery Passage. I used the RV Park for my stay. Great view from the very level camping site. This Campground is very clean and so are the washrooms. The club house is great to use. Many tug boats, fishing vessals, and some cruse ships to view. There was even some killer whales and a humpback whale swim on by.

We stayed at Brown's Bay in late July in our motorhome. The sites are fantastic, staff are super wonderful and the amenities are much appreciated. The bathrooms were always super clean and the showers looked very clean as well. The laundry facilities worked and were reasonably priced at $2/wash, $2/dry. There are lovely views from pretty much any spot. We'd happily camp here again.

Had the most amazing stay at one of the cabins at Brown's Bay Resort in June. I was so impressed by the quality of the cabins, all of the amenties and very practical touches they had added (night lights in the bathroom, complimentary laundry pods/dishwasher tablets and blankets for sitting outside). The staff were really helpful and the restaurant was fantastic, servers were friendly and the food was fantastic. The real highlight of this place though is the view and the nature. If you sit outside for long enough you might be lucky enough to see eagles, seals, hummingbirds, if you are super lucky an Orca might even make an appearance. Do not hesitate in booking this place, it's amazing.

Beautiful place to stay! Magical watching the cruise ships sail by. Lawns, amenities...all kept meticulously. We enjoyed our dinner at the floating restaurant...but keep in mind, it is very LOUD inside when busy! Aside from the noise of fellow diners, service & food were great. Browns Bay is a great RV resort!

We stayed in a lower rv spot with full hook up for $80 a night. This place had mostly friendly staff particularly the young kiwi girl and the girl down at the fishing dock shop. Amazing views and the best facilities we have come across so far in Canada. Free clean, adjustable, and hot showers, 2$ laundry machines and dryers, free hot tub with amazing Views and a large indoor recreation / cooking room with big glass windows overlooking the bay, there is even a small fitness room. Wish we had stayed longer. Only cons are the small sites, most vehicles park out the back of the campsite and you are very close to your neighbours as there’s no trees between but that all quickly forgotten with the view.
