Owners were amazing! Not much for cell service, but thats ok with me. Not much for trees but the lots are 60m by 30m, so no chance of peeking in any ones window. Close to the river for fishing and swimming. Wood is for sale on site. And also a boat launch. Highly recommend for a quite place to relax! Definitely be back if I'm in the area!

Grand Rapids Wilderness Adventures
This is an amazing location to set up (especially if your into jet-boating) Right along the Athabasca River, a decent launch, just minutes from town, great fishing opportunities, miles upon miles of non technical river to explore, and above all, amazing hosts! PS: my room was a mess, but i will try to do better next time....

If you are coming from outside N. America, drive is amazing. We used this site as a way point on our RV adventure from Calgary to Yellowkife. Athabasca is a pretty and historic town with amenities to stock up for long journeys. A waste water dump is available on the edge of town. The site itself is away from noise and light, the scenery and river are outstanding. Lots are huge. We saw lots of deer and glow bugs. It was lovely to hear the coyotes at night. There were no amenities/ hook-ups other than a fire pit and complimentary fire wood (much appreciated), but if you plan your water, emptying tanks and propane before arriving, you will enjoy this site with no worries. We booked from the UK and Heather was incredibly helpful and accommodating (very reassuring when traveling from so far). This is a 'must stay' site in Alberta. We will go back again, one night was not enough!
