The park balances accessibility with a peaceful atmosphere, making it a reliable choice for travelers seeking a slower pace and riverfront scenery during their journey.
Location & Surroundings
Located just minutes from the heart of Olympia and the historic Tumwater area, the park is situated in a prime location for exploring the South Sound. The campground is bordered by mature trees and the gentle flow of the river, providing a buffer from the nearby urban activity. Its proximity to Interstate 5 makes it an easy stop for those traveling through the corridor, yet the dense foliage creates a secluded feel that masks the city's hustle and bustle.
Amenities & Park Features
The park provides essential services designed for comfort and convenience. Guests have access to full hookup sites equipped with both 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service. On-site facilities include clean restrooms, hot showers, and a dedicated laundry room for travelers on longer trips. The most notable feature is the direct river access, allowing visitors to enjoy the water or simply relax by the shore. While the amenities are straightforward, they are well-maintained to support a functional and hassle-free camping experience for all rig sizes.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Staying at Riverbend places you near some of the region’s best landmarks. A short drive leads to the stunning Washington State Capitol and the bustling Olympia Farmers Market. Absolutely beautiful campground! Perfect spot for families or anyone looking to relax and enjoy nature. The RV sites are super spacious, clean, and come with full hookups, which made our stay so comfortable. The restrooms and showers were spotless, you can tell the owners really care about keeping everything well maintained. We loved how peaceful it was here. You can hear the river flowing, the scenery is gorgeous, and there’s plenty of room for kids to run around and play. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. They made us feel welcome right away! Honestly, I’m not sure how this place has any low ratings. Our experience was 100% positive, we’ll definitely be coming back. Five stars all the way! 🌲🚐✨

If I could give this place 10 stars, I absolutely would, and maybe throw in a bonus gold medal while I’m at it. I was passing through town when my buddy Will invited me to join him and his amazing family at Riverbend Campground. Saying yes was easily the best decision I’ve made all year. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I’d stumbled into a hidden paradise. The campgrounds are spotless, beautifully maintained, and full of family-friendly activities that make it impossible to be bored. Me and my buddy Will from college even nailed a massive king salmon out of the Nisqually, the kind of catch you tell stories about for years. Whether you’re looking for relaxation, adventure, or just a clean, scenic escape, Riverbend Campground delivers it all and then some. I’ll definitely be back, and I’ll be bringing more friends next time. Big shoutout to Will and the incredible Riverbend crew for setting the new gold standard in camping experiences

We absolutely loved our stay at Riverbend Campground! My family and I stayed at Spot B10, and the atmosphere was pure peace and relaxation. The entire area is incredibly clean, with a great sense of security. The staff is extremely attentive and friendly, which made our experience even better. This is definitely one of our favorite campgrounds, and we can’t wait to come back!

I couldn't say anything about the rooms because it's a tent site. Lauren, in the office IS AMAZING!!!! I love the campsites, spacious, beautiful, peaceful. It doesn't matter if you get a river site or not. Although the river sites take your breath away with the view. I will definitely come back if I'm ever in Washington state again.

I don’t understand how this place has such a low rating, we love it! So happy to have found a safe and peaceful place to camp close to my family in Lacey. We’re actually quite thankful they enforce rules and regulations, unlike some of these other heathens. The staff were always extraordinarily friendly and helpful. I sincerely appreciate them being so accommodating, especially when I had to take my cat to the emergency vet in the middle of the night and while I was experiencing trouble with my truck. The grounds are pristine and such a pleasure to walk around. Can’t wait to stay here again next summer. Thank you for a great experience!
