Overview

Riverbend On The Frio is a premier destination for travelers looking to experience the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Located in Concan, Texas, this park is nestled along the banks of the iconic Frio River, offering a perfect blend of rustic charm and essential modern amenities. Known for its towering cypress trees and clear waters, it serves as a serene escape for those who want to immerse themselves in a classic Texas river adventure while enjoying a sense of community with fellow campers.

Location & Surroundings

The property is located in the scenic Concan area, approximately 80 miles west of San Antonio. This region is celebrated for its limestone bluffs and winding waterways. Being situated directly on the river provides guests with an intimate connection to the landscape. The location is far enough from major cities to feel like a true getaway, yet accessible enough for a weekend trip for residents across South and Central Texas who want to enjoy the scenic hill country vistas.

Amenities & Park Features

The park caters to RVers with a variety of site options that include full hookups with both 30 and 50-amp power. Guests have access to well-maintained bathhouses, laundry facilities, and a general store that stocks camping essentials and souvenirs. For recreation, the park offers private river access, which is a major benefit for guests who want to avoid the crowds at public entry points. Other features include a playground for children and Wi-Fi access throughout the grounds to keep families connected during their stay.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Beyond the park boundaries, visitors can explore the famous Garner State Park, located just a few miles away. This area is a hub for hiking, birdwatching, and participating in legendary summer evening dances. The primary activity for most is tubing the Frio River, where slow currents and cool waters provide a refreshing escape from the Texas heat. Golfers can enjoy the nearby Frio Valley Ranch, while local eateries and live music venues in Concan offer a taste of authentic local culture.

Who This Park Is Best For

This destination is an excellent choice for families and larger groups who enjoy an active, water-based lifestyle. It is specifically designed for those who appreciate a laid-back atmosphere rather than a secluded retreat. Because of the on-site river access, it is particularly suited for avid tubers, swimmers, and anglers. We love coming to Riverbend on the Frio every summer. The cabins are well appointed and the part of the river it is on is breathtaking! The staff is wonderful! Great location to make some day trips from too. We look forward to our stay every year.

Our family has been coming for decades. It's truly magical, and this year the floating was exceptional! The office staff is always so friendly and helpful when it comes to our big group making everyone confused. The coffee is good, the merch is fun, the toys you can rent are a neat surprise for the group! Last year we really liked the staff events down by the water our littles got to make origami boats and float them! My one bit of feedback is if there were more strict rules around darkness everyone could appreciate the stars more!

We love Riverbend on the Frio and have been return guests for a few years. The staff are friendly, attentive, and will communicate with guests via text to announce games/events/activities or weather warnings. The water is cool and clear, they even had a few canopies set up for Riverbend guests to utilize, down on the river. The bath houses are great, too. Onsite, they have a cute gift shop/store with ice and some essentials if you forget anything. Overall, it's very family friendly and other guests are considerate of quiet hours and lights. Great place to make memories!

My family & I had such a wonderful time at Riverbend on the Frio & are already wanting to go back! We stayed in one of the small motels, and it was great for our family of 5 with a rollaway bed. The access to the river was good & beautifully clear. The store on site was fully stocked & helpful. All the staff were friendly & gave great service as well. We will be booking again as soon as we can!

Camped in our RV. Our HillTop site was amazing. Early morning and late evening strolls were enjoyable around the pond. The view of the hills was beautiful. The access to the Frio River was great. The most enjoyable and amazing thing that my husband and I witnessed were the abundance of lighting bugs. I loved it. The staff was great, friendly, welcoming, and ensured we found our site. I will definitely go back and have already recommended Frio Riverbend to friends. Thank you for an amazing stay and a wonderful place to enjoy.
