The owners of Riverbend Resort (aka "Kamp Komfort") are extremely hospitable, friendly, and helpful. Known for one of the locations of National Lampoon's VACATION movie of 1983, they have great stories about the shooting experience as if it just wrapped last week! As a professional "Screen used prop collector" and Author of the book "Screen Gold", I drooled over the Ring for Service cowbell they had on display, used in the movie. The river was pristine and the trout were biting (early October), The cabin we stayed in had everything, from a fridge, dvd player, HDTV, free dbd movies, fridge, stove, lots of towels, and birdseed to lure the blue Steller Jays and woodpeckers to our private deck. There were other amenities, but my stay was short. Great place to escape to!

Enjoyed the surroundings on the river. The cabins need updated repairs, and overpriced. The front desk service was very good.I had to reflect lower overall ratings due to the owner's arrogance at checkout, demanding added pet fees w/ accompanied service animal.. In all my travels, a first occurence: a property owner demanding at checkout proof of service dog certification, of which I supplied. I find it quite demeaning when shown to have him scrutinize both sides of verification card not returning to me in a timely manner, without even a thank you for visiting. The property rules state 5 mph/ DOGS LEASHED AT ALL TIMES, while his pets roamed unleashed during checkout process....a sad departing note after my long, 1000 mile drive visiting friends.

Absolutely delightful! We met some friends here and had a wonderful weekend. Friendly and helpful camp staff. It was so nice that everyone could have access to the river without obscuring anyone else’s riverfront view parking spot. Very chill and relaxed atmosphere, lots of camp activities planned for nearly every night of the week. We had a fantastic stay and look forward to seeing them again next year!

This is such a gem of a campground. So glad we found it! We had a back in river view and from the moment we entered the park we were impressed. It has a nostalgic feel to me. We were escorted to our site and assisted with parking. My husband called to ask if they had ice and within 5 mins we had a bag delivered. Gorgeous scenery, such a relaxing place to spend a week watching the river run. Meadow below our site is very well maintained. Very friendly staff as well. We definitely plan to return!

We rented one of their RVs for our stay this week and could not have been more pleased! The camper was fully stocked, clean and the location was perfect. The view from the porch overlooking the river was perfect for our morning coffee and Bible study. The front office staff was extremely kind and helpful and even provided additional services like coming by daily to empty our holding tanks. The views were stunning and everybody was extremely friendly. Definitely recommend!
