We found it! Our new favorite campground. Riverdale is staffed by a wonderful family. We met mom and her two wonderful daughters. Our site is amazing and we are inquiring about a seasonal option. We never want to leave. Facilities are clean and located in good locations across the grounds. Can’t recommend this place more.

Underwhelming. A new pool is the only boastful thing I can think of; but you can tell by lack of maintenance that it’ll be trash within a couple of years. Family friendly, except on weekends and holidays. Mid week you can soak in the views of all the derelict trailers scattered through the park. On the weekends you can enjoy no sanctioned events so everyone gets bored and starts “breaking rules”New owner, see you next Tuesday. Enjoy spending 1,200$ a month to watch her mow the grass and contribute nothing to the well being of the park. After 30 years it’s a shame. A lot of potential once current owner goes away. For the cost you might as well go to Hammonassett. Yes, a state park has a leg up on this spot.

What a great find. Very nice clean park. Clara was so very helpful and nice. Her and her sister told us about a few must see places The campground map phamplet had other places to check out and eat. All in all a great stay. Highly recommend

Booked reservation in January for a week for the end of May. We have a 42’ class A Motorhome. When we arrived the spot we had booked had been given to someone else. The first spot they tried to put us was washed out and so unlevel our tow hitch was sitting on the ground, they moved us to another spot and that one didn’t have power/breaker kept tripping. Then they tried to move us to a spot that was so small our front end was sticking out into the road. We decided to leave and go to another campground. They still changed us for the entire 7 days now I’m trying to dispute to charges with my credit card company.

Beautiful campground! We loved the pond and store. The pool is a bit of a walk but very nice! The staff are wonderful! The road to get there is a little winding but not enough to keep us from coming back.

The customer service was excellent - kind, helpful and welcoming. The pull thru was just long enough for our MH towing car, but there was a very open and spacious feel to the site - very nice. Restrooms dated, but clean. We did not get a confirmation, but read the rules that were given to us once we arrived. Surprised that check-in was not until 3pm, with $5 extra for early arrival. The young lady did NOT charge us extra for our (inadvertent) early arrival. The rules said that use of in-unit washer and dryer was not allowed. $55 a night and we can't use water and electric for laundry? Of 60 campgrounds this year, we have never experienced this. The laundry room was locked - must have reservations to use. If you don't plan to arrive too early and don't need to do laundry, you should really like this place - I would definitely recommend!

Nice campground set in the woods. The pond has a nice sand beach the kid loves, our site is big and there’s lots of grass areas and places to walk around. There’s an arcade, a cafe that opens on weekends and a snack shack by the pond. Pond is stocked with Bluegill, Bass and Perch, and there’s trout in the stream. Sites around the pond or by the river don’t have black tank hookups but all the others do.

There are no activities throughout the day for kids- unlike most other campgrounds. Also, they do not like you playing music at your site at all even at a low volume at a reasonable night time hour. There are much better options for campgrounds in Connecticut for people looking to have a good time with their family and friends.

Just took our first family vacation here and it was absolutely wonderful. Everyone was so kind and the staff was awesome, Bathrooms where cleaned daily multiple times and the sites are spacious and clean. Only down thing was the amount of flys and mosquitoes it was like they were fighting for bragging rights.

My family had a great time here...the only thing wrong was there were way to many flies,horse flies,and mosquitoes..it wasn't just our camping area it was the entire place.but all and all our family had a great visit. Kids went swimming in the pond,they played basketball,and the little ones had fun at the playground..the staff was very nice and so we're other campers around us.. definitely a family friendly place.
