If you want lots of bugs, filthy bathrooms, thinnest toilet paper made, overgrown lawns and next to a trashy mobile home park, this is your place.

Some may have their individual thoughts and that is expected. This perspective saw a great place to stop for a food break. Seems their is a BMX Rally that takes place near the entrance which is probably a smart visit. A local Farmers Market going through Sept. 22 or 24th....(don't quote me😮💨) has a business with a featured croissant that is square....if I'm not mistaken. Would be nice to stop their also at some point. Overall I prefer the positives of the location verses other options to side with. Saw plenty of wildlife and a group in horseback. In sure there is a way to look into that also which is a for sure draw. Not many pictures.... (much like the museums)....so the judge can be the onlooker(s).

First off! If you’ve never been here steer clear! Getting there was the first problem. They should have a sign out by Peoria road. If you come in from the east it has you go up to a sign that says private property. Luckily there’s a church parking lot you can turn around in. Mind you I’ve got a 43’ class A diesel pusher! I called the host and she helped me get there. The address should say Sandhill road not Peoria road! I called and told the reservation person what kind of spot I needed and she said we have plenty of room for your Coach. Negative! The spot was at best 40’ long. I’ve included a picture. This would be ok in a pop-up or something similar in size. The host was very nice! I paid for 4 nights which = $200. It wasn’t what I expected at all when they claimed to have plenty of room. Definitely not for large campers. I decided to go after the second day and I called the reservation on Sunday to try to get a refund and that was waste of time! The girl was VERY RUDE and SAID IN A SNOTTY WAY WE DON’T GIVE REFUNDS!

Hidden gem I read the reviews after booking the site for Memorial Day after a cancellation by another park. 1. There is no playground here. So I have no clue what other posters are saying. (Probably the trailer park nearby) no one stalked us. 2. Camp host was friendly and did have one dog (didn't bark or act aggressive). 3. The roads are equivalent to most in springfield-il, so they are terrible. But they are travelable. 4. Sites are well taken care of but could use a makeover with updates. 5. We were one of very few here so it was peaceful and quite. 6. Lots of natural foliage keeps it secluded.

It's been many years since I camped here with an ex. Rates were good for tent camping but bathrooms were cold and nasty. No hot water in the showers. Roads were too bad then. Didn't really get harassed but this place definitely wasn't the best to stay at. Wound up getting bit on my back by something while sleeping and got sick. Overpriced firewood bundles available but plenty of dead trees laying around. Definitely lackluster. It definitely is primitive camping but I can could get better peace and quiet somewhere else.
