Riverside Pines Campsites

Overview

Riverside Pines Campsites offers a quintessential Adirondack experience along the winding banks of the Schroon River in Upstate New York. Surrounded by towering white pines and the crisp mountain air, this park provides a serene escape for travelers looking to reconnect with nature. The atmosphere is grounded and welcoming, focusing on the simple joys of woodland living while providing the necessary infrastructure for modern RVers to stay comfortably throughout the season. The park balances a rustic feel with well-maintained facilities, creating an environment where the natural landscape remains the star of the show.

Location & Surroundings

Nestled in the charming town of Chestertown, NY, the park sits within the vast 6-million-acre Adirondack Park. The primary draw is the river itself, which creates a peaceful backdrop for every campsite. The surrounding area is a tapestry of crystal-clear lakes and dense evergreen forests. While the park feels secluded, it remains conveniently located near local services in Chestertown, ensuring guests have easy access to supplies while enjoying a quiet riverside setting away from heavy traffic and noise.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is well-equipped to handle various camping styles, featuring spacious full hookup sites that accommodate larger rigs. Water lovers will appreciate the private sandy beach and the dedicated boat launch, which makes entering the Schroon River seamless for paddlers. On-site conveniences include a camp store for essentials, a clean laundry room, and recreational facilities such as a playground and a basketball court. These features ensure that families have everything they need for a multi-week stay or a quick weekend getaway without leaving the grounds.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Beyond the park gates, the region is a playground for outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors can take a short 20-minute drive to Lake George for its famous steamboat cruises and bustling village life. For those who prefer the trails, the nearby Pharaoh Lake Wilderness provides miles of rugged hiking and birdwatching opportunities. The Schroon River is ideal for calm-water kayaking and tubing, while anglers will find excellent opportunities to cast for local fish species directly from the park's shoreline or from a small boat.

Who This Park Is Best For

Riverside Pines Campsites is an ideal match for nature-loving families who want a traditional camping vibe without sacrificing essential comforts. It is perfect for RVers who enjoy water-based recreation and those who prefer a more rustic, wooded aesthetic over a concrete-heavy resort. Excellent experience! We had a blast camping and adventuring in the area! The facilities were nice and clean, the playground for kids was really fun, the beach was extraordinary, and the taproom was awesome. We visited when they had music and a food truck, which was an added bonus. Highly recommend!

It was okay, that's about all I can give Riverside Pines. The only real dislike was there was never anyone in the office. That and no ice machine. My wife loves to fish for pan fish. The bank was too steep to fish from, and the docks were too narrow. So plan on going off site if you would like to do that.

A diamond in the Adirondacks! Private, clean, family friendly, open air tap room, responsive owners, gorgeous beach! And a playground next to the tap room… need I say more? What more could you want?!? We’ve already booked our trip for next year! This truly is a special place that is sure to make our family memories for years to come.

The most peaceful, enjoyable, and fun atmosphere! You can’t help but feel those nostalgic, summer in the ADK’s feels!! Great beach for both adults and kids, a playground, as well as an amazing new taproom! They have an awesome variety of beer and wine options. I highly reccomend Riverside Pines!

Great Place! Wife and I went for relaxing stay... Loved the cabin! Spacious and steps away from a beach and lake. Short drive to Lake George. Owners were awesome! Just rebooked for next month with the kids!
