The good and bad of this location is that it is right in Duncan. Close to everything including the industrial area. RV location is beside the river. Nicely situated clean camp sites.

Reasonably priced, but very close to Duncan. Therefore, be aware that there are lots of homeless people squatting nearby and can hear the highway/emergency vehicles. Pack away all your things at night/when away to reduce risk of encroaching. We locked our tent too. No clotheslines or hammocks allowed. It’s good as a hotel alternative, NOT for a camping vacation. Amenities: - 1 building with flushing toilets and showers (no additional charge to use). Also outhouses. They were clean but ran out of hand sanitizer. - fresh water taps - garbage bins. A stranger was trespassing and picking through garbage both times we visited. - picnic tables - sites with electricity available - there was a fire ban during our stay, but we wouldn’t have been able to light a fire anyways because our site didn’t have a fire pit. We saw fire pits in other sites though. Lots of people also live in their RVs there. The ground was extremely hard and difficult to get tent pegs into. Again, nicer than staying in a hotel, not for vacation :)

Had a wonderful experience staying at Cowichan River Campground. Booking online was easy and simple, received timely email notifications about stay and online checking in. We stayed in one of the tent sites, and found them incredibly spacious. Was able to fit one 4 person tent, two vehicles, a 12x12 awning, a picnic table, and had room to play games. We appreciated the portable water, clean bathrooms, and garbage bins available. We spent an afternoon hunting crayfish in the river, and lounging in the sun. Owners were incredibly friendly, and made sure potentially rowdy groups understood the quite hours. After talking to the owner we learned he leaves designated campsites open for bike packers. Would recommend this spot to anyone and we will be coming back.

This was such a lovely stay. We booked online last minute and the check in process was so easy and communication emails were super clear. The park is incredibly clean and clearly well maintained. The river was literally right beside the sites and super easy to get to (I recommend water shoes so you don’t slip on the rocks in the river). I will also add, the park is super dog friendly, we had no issue bringing our dog. The owner came by for a quick check to make sure we were all settled and he was such a delight, we can’t wait to come back and meet his wife too.

Campground is clean, both outhouses and coded washrooms (open seasonally). Cool, potable water available throughout the campground! Minutes away from the town but it truly doesn't feel that way. Our group of 7 (split into 2 sites) had a great time playing games at our site and wading in the river. Our site was in the middle and unfortunately didn't have a lot of tree protection from the sun, but we had a shade tent and there was always a nice breeze blowing. The site host Cory was friendly, he stopped by to introduce himself and ensure that we were settling in comfortably. It was our cat's first time camping! All the other pet owners in the campground are very respectful and responsible with their pets - always on leashes and well behaved. Loved this area. We will be back to try out some of the other sites!
