Riverwood RV Resort

Overview

Riverwood RV Resort offers a serene escape nestled along the banks of the Mancos River. This resort provides a tranquil base for travelers exploring the rugged beauty of Southwest Colorado. Unlike basic roadside stops, the property emphasizes a park-like atmosphere with mature trees and professional landscaping that creates a sense of privacy. It balances modern convenience with the natural charm of the high-desert landscape while maintaining impeccable grounds for a comfortable stay.

Location & Surroundings

Situated at an elevation of approximately 7,000 feet, the resort is located in the historic town of Mancos. Guests enjoy dramatic views of the La Plata Mountains to the east. The location serves as a perfect midpoint between the bustling town of Durango and the archaeological wonders of Cortez. Its position away from major highway noise ensures that the natural river sounds remain the primary soundtrack for your mountain retreat.

Amenities & Park Features

The resort is designed to accommodate modern travelers with spacious concrete pads and full hookups including 30 and 50-amp service. Guests have access to reliable Wi-Fi and cable television, making it easy to stay connected while traveling. On-site facilities include a modern laundry facility and private shower suites that are consistently praised for their cleanliness. The pet-friendly grounds feature designated areas for walking four-legged companions along the water’s edge.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

History buffs will appreciate being just minutes from the entrance of Mesa Verde National Park, where ancient cliff dwellings tell the story of the Ancestral Puebloans. For those seeking adventure, the world-class mountain biking trails at Phil’s World are a short drive away. Visitors can also spend an afternoon browsing the local artisan shops and galleries in downtown Mancos or take a scenic drive into the nearby San Juan National Forest.

Who This Park Is Best For

This resort is an ideal match for big-rig travelers who prioritize level sites and easy maneuverability. It appeals to retirees and couples seeking a quiet, upscale environment rather than a high-energy, crowded campground. Because of its central location, it is also a top choice for outdoor explorers who want a comfortable, high-end home base while spending their days hiking, biking, or touring the historic sites of the Four Corners region.

We were driving through heading back east and found this campground. Very comfortable and so close to Durango and great hiking we spent the night. Mancos is a quiet town with a good vibe.

Brenda always make sure you're taken care of with first class amenities such as washer and dryer, clean and spacious bathrooms and the beautiful mancos river that runs right through the campgrounds that you can picnic at.. love this place. Came back 2 years in a row and plan to come back again. Thank you, Brenda and Dugan! First class hospitality and amenities

Beautiful RV park. Staff was first rate. They shared their fresh vegetables with us. Park was clean and our site was fantastic with the river behind us. Would definitely stay there again.

Stayed 2 nights here - what a cool little gem!!! Full electric, full water connection, sewer connection for each spot. Had a spot near the river (awesome - the folks there changed my reservation for the spot when we called a few days before arriving). Has a small clean laundry at the main building. Only a 2 minute walk to "downtown" Mancos. Recommended a couple of restaurants near by for us

We always have the best time at Riverwood RV Resort! The campground is super clean, peaceful, and really well taken care of. The staff are awesome—so welcoming and helpful. It’s also in a great spot with restaurants and fun local events just a short walk away. Plus, Mesa Verde National Park and Phil’s World mountain biking trails are just a quick drive down the road. Can’t wait to come back!
