Roaring Springs Ranch Club
Overview
Roaring Springs Ranch Club offers a distinct experience in the heart of the Texas Rolling Plains. This destination is built around the historic natural springs that have drawn visitors to the region for centuries. Unlike a typical roadside stop, this park functions as a private ranch-style retreat where the pace of life slows down significantly. It serves as a lush sanctuary for travelers navigating the expansive landscapes of West Texas and looking for a quiet place to unhook.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in Motley County, the park sits at the base of the Caprock Escarpment, where the flat plains transition into rugged canyons and red rock formations. The surrounding environment is characterized by mesquite trees and wide-open skies, but the club itself is a verdant pocket of greenery. This contrast makes the location feel like a true hidden desert oasis for those arriving from the dusty highways of the Panhandle.
Amenities & Park Features
The centerpiece of the park is the massive spring-fed swimming pool, which maintains a refreshing temperature and clear water year-round. RV travelers can enjoy several features designed for a comfortable stay:
- Spacious full hookup sites that accommodate a variety of rig sizes.
- A large community clubhouse used for social gatherings and indoor relaxation.
- On-site laundry facilities and well-maintained shower houses.
- Access to recreational courts for basketball, volleyball, and outdoor play areas.
These features combine the ruggedness of a ranch with the conveniences required for modern RV living.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Outdoor enthusiasts can venture a short distance to explore Caprock Canyons State Park, home to the official Texas State Bison Herd and miles of scenic hiking trails. The local area also offers opportunities for golfing at the nearby course and historical tours of Matador. Guests often enjoy wildlife viewing and stargazing, as the remote location provides some of the clearest night skies in the state, completely free from urban light pollution.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is ideal for families looking for a traditional summer swimming destination with a natural, historic twist. It also appeals to retirees and long-term travelers who appreciate a quiet, community-oriented atmosphere rather than a high-turnover tourist hub. If you value natural water features and a slower pace of life, this ranch provides a unique and refreshing basecamp for exploring the beauty of the Texas Panhandle.

We stayed here during the off season I'm guessing as we had the whole hill top section to ourselves. Beautiful views as far as the eye can see. Many say it is remote and they aren't lying but that's what we wanted. Many complain about the gate closing at 5pm, but there is a key just ask the office person before so you can get back in. The pool is amazing and fed by a stream. Totally on my dream build list now. I can't comment on the golf course as that's not my cup of tea but the park as a whole is super chill and peaceful. Possibly the best we've been to as far (comparing to 10 this year) as far relaxing and tranquil. Almost forgot. For those concerned with cell phone service and wifi. I can say we had limited if any cell phone service (spectrum) but we also had great wifi speed and ping using TMobile away remote internet so we still had cell service via wifi.

Locked the gates at 6pm without letting me know.. had to walk over a mile with groceries to my campground with no campground manager responding to a message for over 24 hours. Ridiculous. Trash and unmanaged VERY SHARP burs littered across the campsite.

The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because I had zero cell service at my campsite. 😐 Were it not for that, an outstanding camping experience! The campgrounds are extensive and beautiful, especially by the river! The pool area is also very scenic. The restrooms and showers were very clean. The ladies in the office were very kind and helpful! Plus, I had a totally level campsite, something I rarely experience. Very remote and all of the roads are dirt, so if that's not your thing, just be aware. They do have a nice golf course and extensive ATV trails. Plus peace and quiet and lots of stars at night!

This is some people's idea of a perfect campout. Camping options in various campsites to suit individual preferences.
