Located south of Steamboat Springs and near the small town of Yampa, the area serves as a gateway to the Flat Tops Trail Scenic Byway. Travelers will find themselves immersed in a landscape of rolling hills and deep woods where wildlife sightings, including elk and mule deer, are common occurrences during the summer and fall seasons.

Amber was very helpful and knowledgeable of the area when we were there on May 15th of this year.

Very helpful and informative Ranger on site. Useful literature including area maps. The GPS may not reliably work in the remote Forest areas. Educational interpretive signs. Masks are required to enter the building.
