This is a great park in a great location. If you hit the salmon run at the right time you can be right in the middle of the action without having to fight as much for parking. We missed the run by a few weeks, but loved our stay. We have a 44’ fifth wheel and the loops are too tight for our trailer. But we reserved a site right at the entrance to the loop and were able to get in with a little effort. There’s plenty of privacy. We enjoyed our stay and would go back.

Love this park! Beautiful walkway along River. Saw bears, eagles and lots of people fishing . Private campsites. Need reservation but we were able to get one during the height of fishing season. Keep checking website for cancellations.

Sites are wooded, with lots of room between each one. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Very well maintained trails. Easy steps down to the river. Beautiful views in every direction. Fishing is great! Bonus: you might see a bear or two.

I tried to hike the Russian River Falls Trail. The hike was just to hard for my old knees. I wanted to see the bears feeding on sockeye salmon at the falls, they did report about a week earlier bears were there.

Stayed at the Russian River Campground for one night on our way to Homer. Great, clean, well laid out campground. Staff and the check in were really great. Warned of bears. We did not fish but we hiked the "angers trail" and watched people fishing. Did see some bears and a lot of signs of bear activity. Be sure to be very bear aware, carry bear spray, get some bear bells, or hike in groups and talk a lot. Very scenic walk along the river and fun to watch the fishermen and exciting to see the bears!

Long walk to the fishing spot, too crowded of fishermen. We wear wader to cross the river to get to the fishing spot. Ferry ride to the other side cost $12, but it close at 11pm, so you need a wader to cross the river to get back to the campground. Watch for bear coming down the river for fish. Highly suggest to go with folks that familiar with the road. Do not cross the river in high water.

This Campground is amazing. Great place to park for 12 hours for fishing for sockeye when they are running.
