Sacramento Shade RV Park

Overview

Sacramento Shade RV Park offers a tranquil retreat for travelers visiting California's vibrant capital city. As the name suggests, the park is characterized by its mature canopy of trees, providing a cool, shaded environment that is a welcome relief during the warm valley summers. The park strikes a balance between a peaceful atmosphere and urban accessibility, making it a reliable choice for those who want to be close to the city center without the noise of the metropolitan core.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in the northern part of the city, the park provides convenient freeway access to I-80 and I-5, while maintaining a surprisingly quiet ambiance away from the heavy traffic. It is located near the intersection of major travel routes, making it an ideal base for exploring the broader Sacramento Valley. The surrounding neighborhood offers essential services, including local grocery stores and diverse dining options, all within a short distance from the park entrance.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is meticulously maintained with paved interior roads and level concrete pads that accommodate various rig sizes. Guests can enjoy full hookups with 30 and 50-amp electrical service at every site. On-site amenities include:

  • A refreshing swimming pool perfect for cooling off on warm California afternoons.
  • Clean, modern laundry facilities and private restroom structures for guest comfort.
  • A dedicated dog wash station to accommodate pet-owning travelers.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Travelers are just minutes away from the historic Old Sacramento Waterfront, where gold-rush era buildings, steam trains, and museums tell the story of the West. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity to Discovery Park and the American River Parkway, which offers miles of paved trails for biking and hiking. For a day of culture, visit the California State Capitol or the Crocker Art Museum, both located within easy driving distance.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an excellent choice for retirees and mature travelers who value a quiet, clean, and organized environment over a high-energy resort atmosphere. It's a little tight for my 38' 5th wheel, but had no problem backing in and driving through the park. Sites are well maintained and clean! First trip for my wife and I from San Jose. 1st time ever Glamping for us. I would definitely come back.

Had a great 2 day stay visiting friends and family. Very clean park with very nice overnight sites. Manager is friendly and very involved with park maintenance and management. Will stay here again in the future.

We stay at Sacramento Shade RV Park every time we pass through Sacramento. It’s definitely the best RV park in the area. Very private sites, good dog run, each site has full hook-up and garbage can, very nice landscaping. The management takes great pride in the park. Definitely recommended.

Loved with the park had to offer, especially it was well taken care of really enjoyed my stay. Only issue is when I departed. Try to get in contact with the manager regarding the following the process of vacating my unit and this was back in August. Never got followed up on my deposit so it’s been roughly about three months I haven’t heard since I There can be an established communication soon, but overall, as I mentioned, I did enjoy my stay.

Very neat/tidy site with lots of foliage. Lots are fenced and majority have grass and trees. Showers/Toilets are clean and well maintained. Laundry facilities are great and fairly cheap compared to launderette. Owner is very helpful and can accomodate most needs (I needed a 30A/50A adapter and was lent one). Location is right off highway but campers inset on the park do not experience much traffic noise considering. Would highly recommend.
