Sagebrush Campground
Overview
Overview
Travelers navigating the windswept high plains of southeastern Wyoming often set their sights on Sagebrush Campground in Glendo, Wyoming. Situated in an arid landscape defined by wide horizons and sparse vegetation, this stop offers an authentic taste of the Cowboy State. The sage-dotted terrain provides a classic prairie backdrop for motorists traversing the remote stretches of Converse County.
Location & Surroundings
Approaching via Interstate 25, drivers find themselves surrounded by rolling hills, open rangeland, and expansive skies typical of the North Platte River drainage basin. The climate is characterized by abundant sunshine, brisk winds, and significant diurnal temperature shifts. Nearby settlements include Douglas to the north and Wheatland to the south, both serving as practical resupply points along the corridor.
Amenities & Park Features
Because specific on-site infrastructure is not detailed by the property name beyond its rustic moniker, travelers should plan accordingly. Prior to arrival, visitors must contact management directly to verify essential RV hookups, maximum site dimensions, and potable water availability. Asking about pull-through access, generator policies, and seasonal operating dates ensures a smooth arrival on the high plains.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
The region is best known for outdoor recreation centered around Glendo State Park and the massive Glendo Reservoir. Boaters, anglers, and water sports enthusiasts frequent the area for walleye fishing and sailing against a backdrop of red-rock bluffs. Additionally, history buffs can explore nearby historic trails or take day trips toward the Laramie Range for rugged hiking and wildlife viewing.
Who This Park Is Best For
This destination appeals strongly to road-trippers traveling along the I-25 corridor who need a staging area for outdoor adventures. It suits self-contained campers seeking proximity to public lands and reservoir recreation rather than urban resorts. Travelers prioritizing scenic isolation, boating access, and regional exploration will find this high-plains setting aligns with their journey.

our site, SB-07, was sandwiched between 08 and 06. tight, with the picnic table and fire ring super close to our neighbor's boundary. there was one place to hang our hammock using a tree trunk and one of the wooden posts. shade was good. for $40 it was for out of state campers like us, there are definitely better sites at glendo state park like water point. also the vault toilet didn't have locks on it? check-in was 2 or 3 and the check-out was 11. not reasonable in my eyes, we could've used that extra time in the morning and early afternoon. nothing was overtly bad, but my expectations weren't met and i've definitely seen better.

Sagebrush campground has very nice camp spots close to the water. Most have large cottonwood trees with shade throughout the day. All spots have a picnic table and campfire ring, though Platte county is usually first to put a fire ban in effect so make sure you check before lighting a fire!
