Salinas / Monterey KOA
Welcome to the Salinas/Monterey KOA. We have the lowest prices in the area. We are only 7 miles from the coast, making us a great base camp for exploring the Monterey Peninsula area and all the attractions.
Nobel Prize-winning author John Steinbeck captured the beauty of the Monterey Coast and its beach side and inland communities in his landmark books. Visitors can enjoy an easy 20-minute drive to Monterey. Visit Carmel and take the 17-mile drive at Pebble Beach or spend the day at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. This KOA is close to local wineries, where wine tasting is the jewel of Monterey County. Stay in one of the Deluxe Cabins with all the amenities and comfort of a hotel room. One vehicle per cabin, however, we have overflow parking not far away.
******CAR CAMPING IS ABSOLUTELY NOT ALLOWED******
**TENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN RV SITES OR AROUND CABINS**
**WE DO NOT GIVE REFUNDS FOR EARLY DEPARTURES**
NO SMOKING & PETS ARE ONLY ALLOWED IN THE TWO PET FRIENDLY CABINS.
Max pull thru: 40 ft and Max Back-in: 40 ft.
***** WE ARE CLOSE TO THE FREEWAY, SO THERE IS FREEWAY NOISE.
*******Our back-in spots are very nice, however, our neighbors DO have a few roosters.********
Pool Open All Year and Heated!!!
We do have age restrictions on RVs and no conversions (i.e. horse trailers, modified utility trailers, etc.) allowed in park. Pet restrictions with no aggressive breeds or mixes and quantity per site, no more than 2 per site or additional fees may apply.
**BIG RIGS, please use exit 337 (San Miguel Canyon) from Highway 101** Turn left at the first light, Prunedale North Road. This will allow you to make a right hand turn into our park. (vs a very sharp left hand turn from exit 336 or from Highway 156 entrance).
LATE CHECK-IN? Please let the front desk know if you will be arriving after hours. Upon arrival, pull all the way to the top and veer right to the STOP sign in front of the Night Registration. I’ve been staying at KOA since I was a little girl. I stayed the last two nights at this KOA and I have to tell you are the worst customer service experience in my entire life this morning. So I’m moving from San Juan Bautista to Aptos, and we spent the night at this KOA and decide to spend one more night, and I was told this morning when I went to see if the spot was available that it was not asked if I could move to another spot because my husband is ill and didn’t feel like doing the rest of our move today. I was told that my fifth wheel looked too old and didn’t fit in with the other RVs and trailers in the park. So they would not rent to me another night I went and checked all of the rules. There’s nothing that says anything about your make of an RV mine is a 1993. I even went so far as to call the corporate office and ask them about this and they have no specific rule about this but all of these Cowboys are franchise so they can’t enforce any kind of like customer service upon them. These people are so Adaline they are so rude they assume because my RV is a 1983 I guess that I live in it and I’m homeless which Is not the case, although even if it had been, it shouldn’t matter. The fact of the matter is, my husband is a contractor and I’m a lawyer and we used our fifth wheel to move our stuff instead of renting a moving truck. I will never in my life, estate of KOA Campground, anywhere again because of their customer service. I wish I hadn’t paid cash because I would’ve stopped payment on my credit card. That’s how bad I was treated it was so embarrassing especially because this KOA was by far not the nicest one I’ve ever stayed at and no where close to 5 star hotel where they had a reason to be that snotty to their customers. The manager, who is the older, blonde haired gentleman should be fired, especially because he didn’t come talk to me himself. He had a very embarrassed employee tell me that my trailer was ugly basically. Get some professionalism. Most definitely get some humble pie because it’s a KOA in Prunedale California. You don’t have it like that to be so disrespectful and rude. I’ll be moving on with my sick husband to my new house in Aptos. Thank you.

The rv sites are extremely small, our awning touches the other site and your neighbors door faces your door. The bathhouse was clean but the showers are very tiny and not wheelchair/ stroller accessible. The women’s only one shower had a working lock. Homeless walk around and it’s connected to a trailer park. The playground is very dirty, I would think they could power wash it. It is next to a very busy road so it’s noisy but very close to a store and McDonald’s. The manager is not very friendly but the works are nice and overall not somewhere we would return.

We stayed in our RV here. The back-in slots are the nicest ones. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. It's great for doing daytrips to Montrey.

Nice staff, super clean bathrooms, but only 2 showers and 2 stools (well, double it, 2 for men and 2 for women) for the whole park. We have a tiny trailer, no bathroom. The bathroom was spot clean though and almost 4 min walking distance. But the freeway was loud! The location is good. If you don't mind the freeway noise (not only cars, but sirens) and have a RV with a bathroom, I think the place would work for you. Otherwise look for another place

We really loved having our family reunion here. The staff are amazing So helpful and kind. The cabins are super cute. The pool is lovely. Nice new chairs and tables with umbrellas. My only complaint is our door to the cabin kept getting stuck when open and close it.

We stayed in the vacation house. It's right by the main office and pool. We loved the space! There is a dining area, living room with a couch set on one end, and a futon on the other, and a separate long room with a Foosball table and extra fridge. There was an adequate number of dishes for any basic meals -invluding small medium and large pots and pans, cutting board, knives, cookie sheet, silverware, plates, cups, even some plastic kids plates, cups, and bowls. 2 of the bedrooms had walk in closets big enough to fit a pack n play. There was a pack n play provided. Downside is that there was basically no Internet connectivity. Otherwise, it was a great place and a great experience for us!

We just stayed 3 nights in deluxe cabin 17.It was a beautiful clean room with all the amenities we needed to make our stay enjoyable Upon our arrival we were warmly greeted and welcomed by owner Kari. The grounds are well maintained and likewise for the pool recreation room and laundry facilities.Great safe location and fair rates. We plan to be return visitors and would recommend it to others

This KOA is basically just a tiered parking lot. It is EXTREMELY tight, both in driving and in your site. The park has zero security, people can walk in off the street as they please. There is also a mobile home park basically within the grounds which allows even more access. Those “neighbors” also have roosters that got going before 2 am. We stayed one night and bailed. The only saving grace was that all staff that were encountered were very nice and pleasant.

The location is amazing as far as close to the freeway and close to the beach. 🤫 this place is amazing. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. We didn't check out the showers or bathrooms, or the laundry, but were excited to hear they were options. So close to the beach and it felt secluded but shopping aross the street? Made us become members of KOA (despite having avoided in the past because of cost and potential for lots of kids... we're empty nesters..) it's not even a minute off the freeway do there's a little bit of freeway noise, but it wasn't even bothersome. We extended our stay a night because it was so peaceful and clean and close to everything. Camp store if you need ice or wine or beer. Game room, pool, and cabins we didn't really check out. Would absolutely stay again.

We stayed 4 nights with our two small dogs and had so much fun. The deluxe cabin was spacious, far enough from the highway, and so cozy. We had beautiful views from our front deck. The location is close to Monterey and Carmel by the Sea so we had no shortage of things to do and we had a great place to come back to and relax. Highly recommend!
