Very nice place, friendly staff and quiet. We were well rested after a long day of driving.

KOA’s don’t offer the exceptional experience they once were. This park is ok, what made it perfect for us was it was less than a mile of our good friends. Grass was not maintained, staff was helpful, we were glad we only spent one night as we were in transit to our final destination.

Stopped in for an overnight while on a road trip. Made a reservation on the koa website for a patio pull through site without an issue. We arrived after the office was closed and the board had our site info and we easily navigated to a reasonably large pull through (we have a large 5th wheel). Site was mostly level and long enough for the rig and tow vehicle. Water pressure was fine and sewer connection was close. Unfortunately power was an issue at least at this site. Our rig wouldn’t allow us to engage the power because it was reporting low voltage (

We arrived in San Angelo attempting to find a campground and decided to call this KOA. The lady who answered was very rude and acted as if I was interrupting her. I don't know the manager's name at the location in San Angelo, Texas, but the after-hours person there was very cold and inconsiderate. I felt like they didn't have any concern for our dilemma. It was late in the evening, the office was closed, so we called the after-hours emergency number. The woman who answered was very cold and acted as if I were bothering her with my call. She told me that if there were no envelopes at the window, that would mean there was no vacancy. I feel like she knew there were no vacancies before we arrived. We drove 45 minutes out of our way to get there, and once we arrived, we found no envelope. I called her to confirm that there was no availability, and she was very harsh and rude when I called back. We will never stay there in the future, and this may affect our choices to stay at any KOA in the future.

Disappointed in KOA San Angelo’s Lack of Compassion I’m extremely disappointed with the customer service I received from the KOA San Angelo location. I had a reservation booked for the 4th of July weekend — one of the most popular times of the year, especially being on the lake with fireworks. Unfortunately, due to a sudden and serious health emergency, I was unable to keep the reservation. I made several attempts to contact the location a full week in advance to explain the situation. After days of no response, they finally returned my call today, just days before the holiday. When I explained the emergency and asked if it would be possible to either receive a refund or credit for a future stay, I was met with a firm and impersonal “no.” No options. No understanding. No compassion. I fully understand policies exist for a reason — but I also believe there’s room for empathy and common sense when genuine, unforeseen circumstances arise. That site, especially during a holiday weekend, would have easily been rebooked the moment it was relisted. The $200 they’re choosing to keep isn’t worth more than showing simple human kindness. And let me be clear — this is not a KOA-wide issue. I’ve stayed at other KOAs and know for a fact that refunds and credits can be issued. This was a decision made specifically by the San Angelo location. I believe in the saying “blessed to be a blessing.” Sadly, the San Angelo KOA chose policy over people, profit over empathy. That speaks volumes.

Staff was friendly and helpful. However pull thru site was not level and not all that clean or picked up. Saw several cigarette and cigar butts, also someone previously decided to brush their dog leaving dog hair around the site. It was nice having the walking trail to use and enjoy watching the local deer.

Nice people. Well maintained. Close to nature and amenities.

I don’t know what the deal is with KOA. We travel with friends. This has happened every time we have been in a KOA. When booking, I make a point to tell them we are traveling together and want campsites together. It NEVER happens!! What is that all about. They may even say that we can be together when making reservations but when we arrive they don’t have 2 sites together. There is no discussing or changing sites. We are told they are completely full. All I get from check in people is “sorry, we did the best we could.” We are currently camping under this situation. Even though we were told 2 sites together were not available, the site right next to ours has been vacant the entire time we have been here. Soooo frustrating and not worth booking KOA in the future.

Very helpful friendly staff. Easy in and out for us since we just spent one night. Very quiet, big plus for me.
