Location & Surroundings

Perched on a mesa overlooking the water, the park is surrounded by juniper and piñon pine forests. Its location in the Four Corners region makes it a perfect basecamp for exploring high-desert plateaus and lush mountain valleys, all within a short drive from the park entrance.

Clean, large campground with many empty sites on the cusp of off-season. Overseen by the sunniest, most helpful host ever. It is worth the trek just to visit with her.

Absolutely loved McPhee Campground. The camp hosts were amazing. Close enough drive to lake each day. The restrooms were super clean too!

Wonderful campground! Clean toilet facilities. Camp hosts friendly and helpful. They keep the sites pristine. About half the sites are electric. No showers but we carry our own shower tent. Sites are surrounded by trees so good privacy.

Loved site 24 for 4 nights. Place was almost empty but reservation.gov showed mostly full. I hope the site gets it together soon. Very misleading. However the place is awesome. Bathroom has flush toilet and clean. Camp host was a super cool guy named Gene. I will be back. Great fishing trip!
