Great place to visit and take pics. The staff were also very helpful and the little museum they have was engaging and informative. A nice stop on the road trip!

I have driven by this reservoir so many times and always found it very scenic. So, this time, stopped while driving East, for a few pics. Could see a large open area with some parked vehicles from some distance, and that made it easy to get off the highway safely.

Very calm and beautiful lake. Popular fishing spot. Nice view along the highway

Four stars because the restrooms were closed early. Other than that, what an amazingly peaceful place.

Great place to stop by and see what the State of California does to prudently use its scarce water resources. Highly educative. Take a fifteen minute break in your journey and enjoy the scenery. Also don't forget to thank the folks in there who maintain it.

It was an amazing experience while we were driving there. It was foggy and we could see clouds passing through. Blue water surrounded by greenery was so soothing for eyes to watch.

Great reservoir, vary big, fishing wasn't great when I came in November but overall it was beautiful with plenty of shoreline line to fish.

Not the best place for your furry friend but some space stretch out. Beautiful views. Kimmy gives one paw 🐾 up.

Such a hidden gem. Needed a spot to camp on a road trip and found this great spot for one night. Gorgeous sunsets and sunrises.

Best place to rest, take pictures, learn, and historical about this place, all free to public they don't even take your donation. Restrooms are awesome too.

Due to hot, windy around this time (i.e June/July), we didn’t get a chance to bring out the portable wood-burning firepit. We decided to cut 1-day short too. Overall, a nice place but hot/windy weather makes it hard for campers.

A very large reservoir with a beautiful view of mountains behind. Be wary of the strong winds in the region. There is a visitor center here with information on the history of the reservoir, and it also has restrooms for the public to use. The drive around the reservoir is one of the best things to experience on the way from LA to the bay area. Overall I would really recommend making a small halt to experience the breathtaking views this place has to offer.

Beautiful area. before we found the visitor center on the road there were beautiful views but difficult to find a place to stop to enjoy them. The visitor area handles that nicely, but you do miss some of the dramatic views along the way. I wish there were more pull-overs on the road.

It’s almost the best time to visit here and enjoy the view of fresh green hills!

Great unexpected roadside attraction. My family went to the bathroom there in the heatwave, and it was pretty and informative. The binoculars were super easy to use and fun, and the AC was great! μΠΩ
