Beautiful campsite at a great price. We set up our rooftop tent and enjoyed a peaceful night. You have to call and leave a message to reserve a spot but worth the small hassle of not being able to book on their website.

Reserved a full hookup for our 18’ camper. Lots of room to back our camper up to our site - no problems with hookups. (Make sure to bring proper 30amp or 50amp plug adapter if using 3 prong plug - we bought one at a local hardware.) Showers/bathrooms are old but clean when they weren’t being purposely dirtied by delinquent slob campers. (Irish Setter dogs watch their pups better than some parents watch their own kids! Luckily, they left!) The owners of the campground have invested big money into an updated sewer system - looking forward to returning to enjoy another week of camping. The campground is close to Lake Michigan, as well as grocery, hardware and auto parts stores if needed.

We had a disappointing experience at Sand Creek this year. After enjoying our stay there twice last year, we didn’t even look for another campground near Michigan City when planning this year’s vacation. However, we did not know it was under new ownership. There were bees in the electric hook up and my husband got stung. The bathrooms were a mess and our site had no table.

Violence is tolerated here, not safe for family. The police were already involved during the day by the time I got here. Later at night, there was screaming, slapping, things being thrown, and fighting across the campground. Some of it right in my campsite. The police were called back, they were poking around and asking me questions but ultimately they left. I got a hotel for the night instead. I brought it up to the staff/owners the next day, they said they were aware that the police were involved but that it wasn’t my business and I should stay out of it. No effort from the staff to fix it, they were aware and completely ok with it. I asked for a refund for the future nights that I would not be staying there, no refunds given and the staff immediately argued. When violence is tolerated, it escalates, someone is going to get hurt and the staff/owner should be held accountable for allowing it to happen here.

Absolutely nothing as the website describes. No pool, no trails, everything is overgrown. The owner said “you didn’t ask if the pool was open”. I’m sure you all understand how much effort goes into making these weekends happen for your family, it’s not even about the nightly cost but missed memories and 3 extremely disappointed kids. *picture of the pool that is not going to be open this year.
